The present invention relates to liquid overmaterials. More specifically, the present invention relates to a filter material containing fibrous magnesium oxysulfate (hereinafter abbreviated as MOS) in order to improve the performance of liquid clarification and promote overspeed. Traditionally, fibrous or granular inorganic natural products such as asbestos, diatomaceous earth, acid clay, colloidal earth, ash, zeolite, etc. have been used as agents and super-aids (together referred to as super-materials) in the manufacturing process of the chemical industry. Also used are organic natural products such as anthracite, charcoal powder, and pulp, as well as synthetic products such as alumina gel, diatom gel, metal oxide gel, and glass fiber. Membrane filters, metal sintered filters, ceramic filters, and the like have been used in the food, pharmaceutical, agrochemical, and cosmetic fields, which require even higher levels of clarity. However, even with the use of the above-mentioned known filtration material, there were drawbacks such as insufficient clarification performance depending on the filtrate, clogging, and the need for a long elapsed time. In addition, attempts have been made to improve the overspeed by using a super-aid and a high-performance filter, but this has not been sufficient. As a result of various studies in order to obtain high clarity in a short time, the present invention has revealed that by using MOS as a supermaterial, it is possible to exhibit superfunctions that far exceed those of conventional supermaterials. This finding led to the completion of the present invention. That is, the present invention relates to a supermaterial characterized by containing fibrous magnesium oxysulfate. The MOS used in the present invention is MgSO4・5MgO・
It is a synthetic inorganic compound represented by 8H 2 O or MgSO 4.5Mg (OH) 2.3H 2 O. This MOS can be produced, for example, by dispersing magnesium oxide or magnesium hydroxide in an aqueous magnesium sulfate solution and causing a heating reaction, or by dispersing magnesium hydroxide in a sulfuric acid solution and causing a heating reaction ( (Refer to Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 149318/1983). The general form of MOS can be described as an extremely bulky fibrous material with an acicular crystal structure, having a true specific gravity of 2.0 to 2.5, a length (fiber length) of 5 to 100 μm, a diameter (fiber diameter) of 0.1 to 2 μm, and a bulk specific gravity of 0.05 to 0.2. . MOS can be used alone or in combination with known supermaterials or superaids. Known overmaterials contain 1% by weight or more, preferably 30% by weight or more,
Furthermore, it can be used in combination at 50% by weight or more. Further, the MOS or the supermaterial containing the MOS used in the present invention may be in a dry state or in a wet state with a liquid, but a wet state is more preferable. In the present invention, the MOS or the overmaterial containing MOS may be used by either the precoat method or the body-feed method, and the combination of both methods further improves the overfunction. Further MOS or
A filter can be created and used by molding a supermaterial containing MOS using resin or other materials. Next, the present invention will be specifically explained using examples. Reference Example (Manufacturing Example of MOS) 9 kg of magnesium sulfate heptahydrate was dissolved in 120 kg of water, and 2.25 kg of magnesium hydroxide and 0.4 kg of MOS as a seed crystal were dispersed in this solution. This dispersion was put into an autoclave with an internal volume of 170
The reaction was carried out at ℃ for 3 hours. The generated precipitate was taken out, washed with water, and then dried at 160°C to obtain MOS. The following experiments were conducted using the MOS thus obtained. The method of passing is as follows. Pre-coat method: Disperse the material in advance using a dispersion medium used in the coating liquid,
After fixing it to the floor such as cloth or glass perforated plate,
How to do something wrong. Body feed method: A method in which a suitable amount of a filtration material is dispersed in a filtration liquid and a dispersion liquid is supplied to a bed such as cloth or a perforated glass plate. Example 1 2.0 g of MOS produced by the method described above was dissolved in toluene.
Ultrasonic dispersion was carried out in 200 ml. Filter this MOS dispersion liquid through a glass filter with a diameter of 30 mm (G1, pore size 100~
The toluene was removed under reduced pressure to form a MOS bed pre-impregnated with toluene. As a clarifying material, 0.5 g of a dioxazine pigment having a particle size of 0.025 to 0.04 μm (trade name: Sumitone East Violet RL; manufactured by Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd.) was ultrasonically dispersed in 100 ml of toluene. The overperformance of MOS precoated with this 0.5wt% dioxazine-dispersed toluene was tested. 12mmHg using a vacuum pump
The experiment was carried out under constant reduced pressure, and the elapsed time and absorbance of the liquid (measured at maximum absorption wavelength, 600 mm) were measured using pure toluene as a symmetry. The results are shown in Table 1. Example 2 Precoated in the same manner as Example 1, and MOS
A bed of 0.5wt% dioxazine was prepared. Furthermore, 0.5 g of MOS was added to this dispersion liquid, and filtration was carried out in the same manner as in Example 1, and the time required for filtration and the permeability of the liquid were measured. The results are shown in Table 1. Comparative Examples 1 to 5 In place of the MOS in Example 1, diatomaceous earth (Comparative Example 1), activated alumina (Comparative Example 2), pulverized pulp (Comparative Example 3), and activated carbon (Comparative Example 4) were pre-coated or pre-coated. Pore size instead of MOS
A 0.1 μm membrane filter (Comparative Example 5) was used. Vacuum filtration was carried out under the same conditions as in Example 1, and the overspeed and liquid permeability (600 mm) were measured. The results are shown in Table 1. Comparative Example 6 0.5 wt % dioxazine-dispersed toluene was prepared in the same manner as in Example 1, using a membrane filter with a pore size of 0.1 μm instead of the precoated MOS overbed in Example 1. Further, 0.5 g of diatomaceous earth was added as a filter aid to the 0.5 wt % dioxazine-dispersed toluene, and the mixture was filtered under reduced pressure to measure the elapsed time and liquid permeability (600 mm). The results are shown in Table 1. Comparative Example 7 Activated carbon was precoated instead of the precoated MOS overbed in Example 1, and 0.5wt% dioxazine-dispersed toluene was prepared in the same manner as in Example 1.
Further, 0.5 g of activated carbon was added to this dispersion liquid, and the mixture was dispersed and subjected to vacuum filtration to measure overspeed and liquid permeability (600 mm). The results are shown in Table 1. From the above experimental results, MOS has excellent overefficiency (overspeed) and clarity (transmittance) compared to other known overflow materials such as membrane filter (porous film), diatomaceous earth, alumina gel, and pulp. It is clear that Also,
Hyperfunction can be further improved by using the body feed method in combination. Example 3 In place of the 0.5wt% dioxazine pigment-dispersed toluene in Example 1, Aerosil (#380, manufactured by Nippon Aerosil Co., Ltd.) having an average particle diameter of 7 mm was used, and the other conditions were exactly the same as in Example 1. elapsed time,
and the clarity of the liquid (transmittance by white light) was measured. The results are shown in Table 2. Comparative Examples 8 to 11 Pre-coated diatomaceous earth (Comparative Example 8), activated alumina (Comparative Example 9), and pulverized pulp (Comparative Example 10) instead of the pre-coated MOS in Example 3, and membrane filters with a pore size of 0.1 μm ( Comparative Example 11) was used. Vacuum filtration was carried out under the same conditions as in Example 1, and the overspeed and liquid transmittance (white light) were measured. The results are shown in Table 2. Example 4 An overtest was conducted using 0.5wt% quinacridone pigment (0.1 to 0.3 μm) dispersion water instead of the 0.5wt% dioxazine pigment-dispersed toluene in Example 1, and using a precoated MOS floor in the same manner as in Example 1. Ivy. Overfunction was evaluated by measuring overspeed and liquid permeability (white light). The results are shown in Table 2. Comparative Examples 12 to 14 Instead of the MOS in Example 4, diatomaceous earth (Comparative Example 12), activated alumina (Comparative Example 13), and pulverized pulp (Comparative Example 14) were precoated and 0.5 wt% quinacridone pigment dispersion water was used. The mixture was subjected to vacuum filtration in exactly the same manner as in Example 1, and the overspeed and liquid permeability were measured. The results are shown in Table 2. As is clear from the above results, MOS exhibits superior performance as a supermaterial for liquid clarification that far exceeds that of conventional supermaterials.
