As a method of locking, the bottom of a U-shaped contact portion formed by two opposing contact springs 3 is punched out to provide a cantilever locking spring 4, and a groove provided in the housing 2 is used. It was locked at 5. However, when the electric wire is strongly pulled, there is a possibility that the contact may fall off with only one location of the locking spring 4.

It has a pair of locking protrusions 16 that protrude outward from the guide hole 20 side. FIG. 4 shows a housing 12 of the present invention, in which a projection locking hole 17 into which the locking projection 16 locks is bored. This hole is a square hole located approximately midway above the two pin contact guide holes 20, and is internally continuous with the insertion hole 18, so that when the socket contact 11 is installed in the insertion hole 18, the bottom wall 171 of the locking hole 17 is the surface that the locking protrusion engages with. Reference numeral 15 denotes a locking groove into which a locking spring engages.
5A is a partial sectional view of the socket connector when the socket contact 11 is inserted into the housing 12, FIG. 5B is a sectional view taken along the line 5A-A', and FIG. 5C is a sectional view taken along the line 5A. It is a BB' sectional view of . Each figure shows the state of engagement between the locking protrusion 16 and the protrusion locking hole 17, and the housing 12 is cut away from the front, side, and top surfaces of each, and the pin contact 10 is inserted in this way. In the non-locking state, the locking force by the conventional locking spring 14 is usually sufficient, so the locking protrusion 16 does not necessarily need to be in the locked state. FIG. 6A is a vertical cross-sectional view of the pin contact 10 fitted into the socket contact 11, and FIG. 6B is a cross-section taken along line C-C' in FIG. 6A for locking when the pin contact is fitted. It shows the state of engagement between the protrusion 16 and the protrusion locking hole 17. By inserting the pin contact 10, the contact spring 13 is expanded, and the locking protrusions 16 at each tip thereof are also expanded outward and away from each other, and are securely engaged with the bottom wall 171 of the protrusion locking hole 17 of the housing 12. It will match. That is, in the fitted state, the locking spring 14
engages with the locking groove 15 of the housing 12, and the pair of locking protrusions 16 provided on the contact spring engages with the protrusion locking hole 17, making the engagement extremely reliable.

し信頼性向上の効果大である。 As described above, in addition to the conventional locking spring, the socket connector of the present invention is provided with a pair of locking protrusions at the tip of the contact spring, and is adapted to engage with the protrusion locking hole of the housing when the connector is mated. Therefore, even if a strong tensile force is applied to a crimped wire, etc., a stable locking state is maintained and the contact is prevented from falling off, which is highly effective in improving reliability.
