て駆動され、排気タイミングを調整する排気タイ
ミングバルブと、エンジン回転数検出器およびバ
ルブ位置検出用ポテンシヨメータからの信号を入
力し、アクチユエータ装置を介して上記ロータリ
開閉バルブを駆動させるコントロールユニツトと
を有し、上記バルブ位置検出用ポテンシヨメータ
は、抵抗板およびこの抵抗板上を摺動する摺動子
を備え、上記抵抗板の抵抗値は、摺動子が上記抵
抗板上を摺動して、排気タイミングバルブが完全
に後退したことを検出する所定領域においてステ
ツプ状に変化するよう構成されたことを特徴とす
