クに応じた操舵トルク検出値を出力する第1及び
第2の操舵トルク検出器と、前記第1の操舵トル
ク検出器の出力が正常であるか異常であるかを判
定する判定手段と、車両の操舵トルクが略零であ
る無負荷操舵状態を検出する検出手段と、前記判
定手段の判定結果が正常であり且つ前記無負荷操
舵状態検出手段が無負荷操舵状態を検出した時に
前記第2の操舵トルク検出器の操舵トルク検出値
を記憶する記憶手段と、前記判定手段の判定結果
が正常である時に、前記第1の操舵トルク検出器
の操舵トルク検出値に基づいて操舵トルクを算出
し、前記判定手段の判定結果が異常である時に、
前記第2の操舵トルク検出器の操舵トルク検出値
と前記記憶手段に記憶されている値とに基づいて
操舵トルクを算出する演算手段と、を備えている
