有していた。 In the electrode plate group 1 of the conventional storage battery, not only is a separator 3 interposed between the negative and anode plates 2, but also a glass mat is brought into contact with the anode plate to press the active material of the anode plate to prevent the active material from falling off. Although it is common practice to prevent this, the thickness of the electrode plate group 1 housed in the battery case 4 is not constant due to variations in the thickness dimensions of the electrode plates and the separator plate 3. The group pressure applied to the electrode plate surface from both sides of the electrode plate group 1 by the inner wall 5 or partition wall 5' of the battery case 4 is also not uniform;
There will also be variations in the pressing force of the active material on the anode plate, and if the group pressurization is too weak, the active material will fall off from the electrode plate surface due to vibrations of the storage battery, shortening the battery life. If the pressure is strong, the electrode group 1
There are drawbacks such as the condition of the electrolyte that permeates into the battery deteriorates, resulting in a decrease in the performance of the storage battery. Therefore, in order to adjust these, especially when the thickness of the electrode plate group 1 is small, for example, when the battery case 4 of the same size is used to create a storage battery with a small rated capacity, a small number of electrode plates is used. In the case of group storage, since the group pressure applied from both sides of the plate group 1 by the inner wall 5 or partition wall 5' of the battery case 4 is weak, the pressure applied from both sides of the plate group 1 and the battery case 4 is weak. The gap plate 6 corresponding to the gap formed between the inner wall 5 or the partition wall 5' of the electrode plate group 1
The gap plate 6 was inserted into both end faces of the gap plate 6.
Conventionally, flat paper plates reinforced with synthetic resin, etc., or flat polystyrene foam, etc., with the same dimensions as the electrode plate or separator 3 were used. The specific gravity in liquid is light, and it is not possible to provide a locking protrusion at the lower end of the gap plate that contacts the lower side of the bottom of the electrode plate because the fallen active material accumulates and grows on the protrusion, causing a short circuit. Therefore, if the inner wall 5 or partition plate 5' of the battery case 4 is not sufficiently pressed from both sides, it may easily float up and move due to vibrations of the storage battery, etc. In some cases, it had disadvantages such as unfavorable appearance.

By extending the protruding part so as to abut the ear part and locking it with the lower surface of the current collector part that connects and converges the ear part, in the event that the pressing force becomes weak, the gap plate will be This prevents the gap plate from moving away from the group of plates, floating up, and moving between the top surface of the gap plate and the bottom surface of the current collector section.

まで容易に浮上りする惧れがあつた。 To explain the present invention, projecting ribs 7 are provided on the inner wall 5 of the battery case 4 or on the surface of the partition wall 5' that partitions between the cells, respectively, to press the electrode plate group 1 housed between the cells from both sides. Appropriate group pressure is applied to the plate group 1 so that the pressure on the plate group 1 is constant. However, when the group thickness of the plate group 1 is small, a gap is applied to both sides of the plate group 1. The plate 6 is interposed between the end face of the electrode plate group 1 and the protruding rib 7, but if it is a conventional storage battery gap plate 6 as shown in FIGS. Since it was on the same line as the upper surface of the separator plate 3, there was a risk that the gap plate 6 would easily float up to the lower surface of the current collector section 10 during weak group pressurization.

防いだ。 In the present invention, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, protrusions 12 and 12' are formed at both upper ends of the gap plate 6 in contact with the ears 9 to prevent floating. The gap plate 6 is prevented from moving by bringing the part 9 into contact with the lower surface of the current collector part 10 which is connected and collected.

めない等実用的価値極めて大なるものである。 As mentioned above, in the present invention, the protrusion formed on the gap plate is used to prevent floating by setting the current collector part at the locking position, and the current collector part is prevented from floating without changing the size of the gap plate. As a result, the circulation of the electrolytic solution on the upper surfaces of the electrode plates and separator plates is not delayed, and floating of the gap plates due to vibration of the storage battery or relaxation of the pressurizing force can be prevented and suppressed without causing the accumulation and growth of the falling active material. Therefore, it has great practical value as it does not damage the appearance of the storage battery.
