面に、磁性キヤリアとトナーとの混合物より成る
粉状体のクリーニング剤を磁力の作用で担持させ
、前記磁石とクリーニングスリーブのうち、少な
くともクリーニングスリーブを回転させてクリー
ニング剤を搬送し、搬送量規制手段によつて規制
された量のクリーニング剤を、クリーニングスリ
ーブとこれに対置された潜像担持体との間のクリ
ーニング領域に運び、該クリーニング剤中のキヤ
リアに潜像担持体上の残留トナーを付着させて除
去し、クリーニングスリーブに対置され、かつ該
クリーニングスリーブと連動して回転されるトナ
ー回収ローラに、クリーニング剤中のトナーを付
着させて回収し、トナー回収ローラに付着したト
ナーをトナー掻き落し手段によつて掻き落す磁気
ブラシクリーニング装置において、 前記搬送量規制手段によつて量を規制されたク
リーニング剤が、前記トナー回収ローラへ搬送さ
れる向きにクリーニングスリーブを回転させたと
き、該クリーニングスリーブの回転がトナー回収
ローラに伝えられ、非クリーニング動作時に、ク
リーニング剤が搬送量規制手段によつて量を規制
されることなくトナー回収ローラへ搬送されるよ
うに、クリーニングスリーブを前記向きと逆向き
に回転させたとき、その回転がトナー回収ローラ
に伝えられず、該ローラが停止しているように、
トナー回収ローラの回転を規制する手段を設けた
