The preferred recording material is carbon ribbon for printing, which is used in typewriters, etc., but conventional carbon ribbons for typewriters are fabrics made of cotton, silk, etc. coated with carbon black. It has the disadvantage of low strength. It is possible to use plastic film as a base material to provide strength, but unstretched plastic film has the disadvantage of being stretched during use, and stretched plastic film has a high elastic modulus and is not flexible. This has the disadvantage that it is difficult to stack carbon black because of the drop in color, and that it is not possible to print sharply and reliably.

ンリボンに存する。 In view of the above-mentioned drawbacks, the invention of the present application was made with the aim of providing a carbon ribbon that has high strength and cannot be easily stretched, is flexible, allows carbon black to be easily laminated, and can print sharply and reliably. The gist of the invention lies in a carbon ribbon in which a carbon black layer is formed on one surface of a rolled olefin resin film which is compressed using rolling rolls at a temperature lower than the softening temperature and rolled to a thickness of 1/2 or less.

法があげられる。 FIG. 1 is a sectional view showing an example of the carbon ribbon of the present invention. In the figure, numeral 1 is a long rolled olefin resin film which is narrow-pressed by a rolling roll at a temperature lower than the softening point temperature and rolled to a thickness of 1/2 or less. Examples of the olefin resin include polyethylene, polypropylene, ethylene-propylene copolymer, etc., and polyethylene is preferably used. The resin is rolled to a thickness of 1/2 or less, preferably 1/2 to 1/6 of the thickness, and preferably 20 μm or less. Further, the above olefin resin film may be laminated in two or more layers. 2 in the figure is a release agent layer laminated on one side of the rolled olefin resin film. Although the mold release agent layer 2 is not necessarily required, it is preferable to form a mold release agent layer of silicone, silicone, or surfactant to facilitate transfer. Further, numeral 3 in the figure is a carbon black layer laminated on the mold release agent layer 2. Any method may be used to form the carbon black layer 3, such as a method of mixing carbon black with oil, wax, etc. and applying it, as in the method of making carbon paper.

る。 The structure of the carbon ribbon of the present invention is as described above, and the olefin resin film has great strength because it is rolled to less than half the thickness at a temperature lower than the softening temperature, and because it is not stretched, it can be made into a thin width. When cut and used in cassettes, it will not stretch or break even if a large force is applied, and the carbon black layer will not peel off and is flexible, so when stamped with a type, etc., the surrounding carbon black layer will be easily removed. Only the engraved part is transferred without being destroyed, making it possible to print sharply and reliably. Therefore, the carbon ribbon of the present invention can be suitably used as a recording material for cassette type computer terminal equipment, etc.
