ホルダの一対の盲穴内に発光素子と受光素子を傾
斜させて配置し、発光素子からの光照射による感
光体上の顕像パターンの反射光を受光素子で受光
してトナー付着量を検知する光学センサにおいて
、発光素子の入射光路と受光素子の反射光路に干
渉しない位置であつてかつ、センサホルダの盲穴
の開口面への投影面が盲穴の開口部分に干渉しな
い位置に開口部を形成した防塵カバーをセンサホ
ルダの上記盲穴開口面側に設けたことを特徴とす
