Workpiece polishing in this type of vertical barrel processing machine occurs due to the relative speed difference between the media rotating and the workpiece stopping or rotating, but the speed of the media is lower than the center of the barrel tank. Since polishing is faster on the outer periphery than on the outer periphery, and the media layer is deeper on the outer periphery of the barrel tank, polishing of the workpiece is performed by inserting and holding the workpiece on the outer periphery side of the barrel tank. Therefore, since the center of rotation of the barrel tank is not directly subjected to polishing, it is preferable that the media be unevenly distributed to some extent on the outer circumferential side of the barrel tank.

Conventionally, as a barrel processing machine that meets such requirements, there has been a barrel processing machine configured to rotate a barrel tank 2 having a cylindrical body 1 fixed to the center of rotation around a vertical axis, as shown in FIG. 1, for example. It has been known. However, in such a barrel processing machine, since the cylindrical body 1 is fixed, the width of the annular space formed by the inner circumferential surface of the barrel tank 2 and the outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical body 1 is fixed. I ended up being
Therefore, for small workpieces, the annular space is unnecessarily wide, and for large workpieces, the annular space is narrow. There were problems with limited functionality and poor versatility.

As a barrel processing machine capable of solving such problems, there has been conventionally known a barrel processing machine using a barrel tank configured so that the cylindrical body can be exchanged, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. That is, the barrel tank 2A shown in FIG. 2 has a cylindrical body 1A with a closed upper part and a flange 3A protruding from the outer periphery of the lower end, which is fixed to the rotational center of the barrel tank 2A by bolts 4A through the flange 3A. This is what I did. In addition, the barrel tank 2B shown in FIG.
B is fixed to the center of rotation of the barrel tank 2B. Either of these barrel tanks 2A, 2B
However, if you remove the bolts 4A and 4B, the cylindrical body 1
A, 1B can be removed, so multiple types of cylindrical bodies 1A, 1B with different outer diameters are prepared, and appropriate cylindrical bodies 1A, 1B are inserted into the barrel tank 2 as needed.
By attaching it to A, 2B, the barrel tank 2A,
The annular space within 2B can be adapted to the size of the workpiece to be machined. However, since each of the barrel tanks 2A and 2B described above has a structure in which the cylindrical bodies 1A and 1B are fixed to the bottom surface of the barrel tanks 2A and 2B with bolts 4A and 4B, the flange 3A or the bottom surface 3B of the cylindrical body 1B is attached to the barrel. It is necessary to fit the media closely to the bottoms of the tanks 2A and 2B, but since the area is large, the media is inserted between the flange 3A or the bottom surface 3B and the bottoms of the barrel tanks 2A and 2B so that the cylindrical bodies 1A and 1B are tilted. In extreme cases, vibration may occur when the barrel tanks 2A, 2B are rotated. Therefore, each of the above barrel tanks 2A, 2
With B, it was necessary to clean the media in the mounting location each time the cylinders 1A, 1B were replaced, making the conversion work of the cylinders 1A, 1B troublesome. In addition, in the case of the barrel tank 2A shown in Fig. 2, the bolts 4A are directly exposed to the media, so the bolts 4A may rust or
There is a problem that foreign matter such as media fragments may adhere to and accumulate on the barrel tank 2B shown in FIG. There were problems such as the work being extremely difficult to perform.

Next, the operation of the barrel processing machine configured as described above will be explained. When the barrel tank 10 containing the media 24 is rotated by the motor 17, the media 24 is subjected to centrifugal force inside the barrel tank 10. The barrel tank 10 is pushed toward the surrounding surface.
rotates with. On the other hand, the lifting block 32 is pulled up to the upper limit position by the cylinder 31, and in this state, the workpiece 34 is attached to the spindle unit 35.
By lowering the workpiece 34, the workpiece 34 is inserted into the medium 24 in the barrel tank 10, and at the same time, the workpiece 34 is rotated by the motor 39. In that case, the fixing position of the spindle unit 35 is adjusted in advance so that the workpiece 34 is located midway between the inner peripheral surface of the barrel tank 10 and the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical body 23. In this way, since the media 24 revolves around the work 34 and the work 34 rotates, the entire work 34 can be polished due to the relative speed difference between the two.

Incidentally, the distance between the workpiece 34 and the inner circumferential surface of the barrel tank 10 and the outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical body 23 is set to 1 to 3 from the viewpoint of improving polishing efficiency and effective use of the media 24.
Since it is preferable to set it to about cm, it is necessary to replace the cylindrical body 23 depending on the size of the workpiece 34 to be processed. Therefore, to explain the replacement operation of the cylindrical body 23 in the above-mentioned barrel processing machine, after removing the fixing bolt 27 and removing the existing cylindrical body 23 from the support column 21, depending on the size of the workpiece 34 to be machined, A cylindrical body 23 having a large diameter or a small diameter is placed over the column 21 from above, and then the cylindrical body 23 is fixed to the upper end of the column 21 with a fixing bolt 27 in the same manner as in the previous case.
FIG. 7 is a sectional view showing the small diameter cylindrical body 23.

However, in the barrel processing machine described above, since the width of the lower end peripheral edge of the cylindrical body 23, that is, the area in contact with the bottom surface of the barrel tank 10 is small, when the cylindrical body 23 is attached after removing the media, a small number of media are removed. Even if the grains remain on the bottom of the barrel tank 10,
There is almost no risk that the media 24 will be caught between the lower peripheral edge of the cylindrical body 23 and the bottom surface of the barrel tank 10, and therefore the cylindrical body 23 can be easily installed in the normal state. Since the cylindrical body 23 is fixed to the column 21 by the fixing bolt 27 at its upper end, the fixing bolt 27 is located at the top, making it easy to attach and remove it. The fixing bolt 27 is prevented from rusting due to contact with other objects, and no foreign matter is attached or deposited on the fixing bolt 27. Therefore, in general, in the barrel processing machine described above, the cylindrical body 23 can be easily replaced.

In the above embodiment, the cylindrical body 23 is closed at the top, but the cylindrical body in this invention is not limited to the one shown in the above embodiment, and in short, the cylindrical body 23 has a closed top.
Any type of material that can be fixed at the upper end is sufficient, for example, a simple cylindrical shape with both upper and lower ends open, a crossbar provided at the upper end, and fixed to the support via the crossbar. It may be something like this. Further, the structure for stopping the rotation of the cylindrical body with respect to the barrel tank is not limited to the protrusion 22 and the notch 26 shown in the above embodiment, and for example, a part of the lower end of the cylindrical body is attached to the barrel tank 10.
The structure may be such that it is directly engaged with the bottom surface of the holder.

As is clear from the above description, according to the vertical barrel processing machine of the present invention, the cylindrical body for removing the media from the center of the barrel tank has an open lower end that is in close contact with the bottom of the barrel tank. Therefore, when replacing the cylindrical body, there is almost no risk of the media being caught between the two, and therefore the cylindrical body can be easily installed in its normal state, and the media cannot be inserted when replacing the cylindrical body. This eliminates the troublesome effort of wiping the bottom of the barrel tank clean. Further, in this invention, a support is erected at the center of rotation of the barrel tank, the cylindrical body is placed over the support, and the cylindrical body is detachably attached to the upper end of the support at its upper end. Therefore, it can be fixed with a single bolt, and when a bolt is used as a fixing device, it is easy to install and remove because the bolt is located above, and the bolt does not cover the media, etc. This can prevent bolts from getting rusty or having foreign matter attached to them. Therefore, in general, according to the present invention, the cylindrical body can be easily replaced according to the size of the workpiece to be machined.
