Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit a uniform coating film to be formed easily on the surface of an object to be coated without the need of any experienced skill by forcibly applying a uniformly thick colored paint layer provided on a substrate to the surface of the object in contact therewith and with heating. CONSTITUTION:A coating sheet 1 having a colored paint layer 2 provided on its substrate 3 in a uniform thickness is laid on the surface of an object 4 to be coated with the paint layer 2 in contact therewith. By means of a pressing instrument 6 provided with a pressing surface 6c elastically deformable when brought in contact with the substrate 3, the paint layer 2 is pressed, while being heated to at least a melting or softening temp. in order to forcibly apply the paint layer 2 to the object surface 4 and the substrate 3 is then removed from the paint layer 2. As a result, this coating method permits a uniform coating film to be formed easily on a small coating surface without the need of any experienced skill.

Such spraying of paint not only has the disadvantage that it requires considerable skill to form a uniform coating film, but also has the drawback of spraying paint on parts to be painted in order to prevent environmental pollution caused by scattering paint mist. It also had the disadvantage that the surrounding area needed to be protected and the painting process was time-consuming.

The characteristic configuration of the simple coating method according to the present invention for achieving the above object is that the colored paint layer is provided on the base material with a uniform thickness, and the colored paint layer side of the coating sheet is placed on the surface of the member to be painted. The colored paint layer is transferred to the surface of the member to be coated under pressure while being brought into contact with the colored paint layer and heated to a temperature higher than the melting temperature or softening temperature, and the base material is peeled off from the colored paint layer.

When the colored paint layer is heated while being pressed by a pressing tool having an elastically deformable pressing surface that comes into contact with the base material side, and the colored paint layer is pressure-transferred onto the surface of the member to be painted, the curved surface of the painted material is applied. It is also efficient in forming a coating film on the surface of parts.

In the simple coating method according to claim 1, a coating film of uniform thickness is formed on the surface of a member to be coated by a colored paint layer of uniform thickness provided on a base material without scattering of paint mist. Therefore, a uniform coating film can be easily formed on the surface of a small member to be coated without requiring P'fa, and the coating operation does not take much time.

In particular, the thickness of the colored paint layer provided on the base material can be controlled within an error range of ±1 μm or less during manufacturing at a factory, etc., so that the uniformity of the coating film can be improved and it can be maintained well. Therefore, it is possible to form a coating film on the surface of a member to be coated, such as a lens, which is sensitive to changes in refraction when light passes through it, in an extremely simple and accurate manner.

The sheet or film that can be used as the base material (3) has a heat resistance higher than the heating temperature required for transferring the colored paint layer (2), and has a thickness of 1.
Approximately µm to 200 pm is suitable, but this base material (
The thickness of 3) also affects the ease with which it can be applied to the surface of the member to be painted (4), and the thinner the surface of the member to be painted (4), the easier it is to follow the unevenness of the surface of the member to be painted (4). Since it is possible to form a uniform coating film (2a) on the entire surface including the unevenness, the thickness that exhibits such surface conformability is 20 μm.
Hereinafter, it is particularly desirable to set the thickness to 10 μm or less.

In addition, the elasticity of the base material (3) is effective for further increasing the surface conformability, but if the elasticity is too large,
Since the uniformity of the coating film (2a) thickness will be impaired, it is desirable to keep the thickness within an appropriate range.

The colored paint layer (2) is transferred to the surface (4) of the painted member during the solidification stage after passing through the softened/melted state or after solidification, by softening/melting the colored paint layer (2). The method of forming the colored paint layer (2) on the base material (3) is, for example, by applying a paint obtained by mixing and dispersing a binder material and a coloring material onto the base material (3) in a state in which it is melted by heating. A hot melt coating method or a liquid paint prepared by mixing a coloring material in a solution obtained by dissolving the binder material in a continuous solvent is applied onto the base material (3) using a coater such as a gravure coater or a tube coater. The liquid paint is applied to the substrate (
3) Either by the so-called solvent coating method in which the binder material is placed on top and dried, or by applying an emulsion in which a colorant is mixed into a suspension dispersed in a liquid that does not dissolve the binder material (for example, water), using a coater such as the one described above. It is possible to form by using a method such as providing on the base material (3) and drying.

The rotating member (6b) of the roller (6) is made of heat-resistant rubber or resin sponge, and is configured such that the pressing surface (6C) is elastically deformed when it comes into contact with the base material (3). Even if the surface of the member to be painted (4) has some unevenness or curved surface, the coating sheet (1) can be placed along the surface of the member to be painted (4) with good uniformity. ) so that a uniform coating film (2a) can be formed evenly.

The coloring material and binder material should be transparent, and the thickness of the layer should be as thin as possible (if a colored paint layer with high visible light transmittance is used, a colored paint layer of a different color may be applied to the surface of the member to be painted). By layering and transferring the
Since different colors can be obtained by subtractive color mixing, it is possible to form coating films of many colors on the surface of the member to be coated by combining colored paint layers of few colors.

If a colored paint layer with low light transmittance and enhanced masking properties is used by appropriately selecting a coloring material or its auxiliary material, it is possible to erase even the background color and dirt on the surface of the member to be painted. . Particularly when using the above-mentioned transparent colored paint layer, if this colored paint layer with low light transmittance is transferred as the first coating film, the desired color can be achieved without being affected by the ground color of the member to be painted. A coating film can be formed on the surface of a member to be coated.

When the colored paint layer is formed into a suitable repeating pattern, a coating film having the pattern can be formed on the surface of the member to be coated.

It is also possible to form a suitable pattern on a member to be painted by cutting this painting sheet into a suitable shape and transferring it to a predetermined location on the member to be painted, as in paper-cutting.

In this case, after transferring the cut painting sheet that forms the pattern, if you overlap and transfer the painting sheet of the background color without peeling off the base material, the base material of the painting sheet that was previously transferred will be It functions as a barrier, and it is possible to form a coating film with a beautiful pattern without irregular color cast on the surface of the member to be coated.

Further, in the case where the coating sheet is pressed against the flat surface of the member to be coated and heated while being pressurized, a pressing tool having a flat hard pressing surface such as an iron can be used.
