Abstract

PURPOSE:To save recording paper by half by providing a means to discriminate a valid page from an invalid page of received information and a recording device, which successively records the pages judged to be valid on both surfaces of the recording paper. CONSTITUTION:When a copying mode is designated, both surfaces of an original is read by a reading device 2, and this read data is recorded on both surfaces of the recording paper by the recording device 3. When both surface copying is to be carried out, a blank page is detected by a controller 4 from the pages of the original read by the reading device 2, and recording is carried out successively of the valid pages, other than the blank pages. Further, when data is being received, the data is received from the outside by a communication controlling device 5, and after the received data is developed into image data by the controller 4 and transformed into recording data, both surface recording on the recording paper is carried out by the recording device 3. Thus the image information is recorded on both surfaces of the recording paper and the recording paper can be saved.

When sending a document with this facsimile machine,
One side of the document is scanned by the image sensor installed in the reading device.
The facsimile machine reads each sheet one by one, converts the read data into predetermined transmission data by the controller, and transmits it to the other party's facsimile machine via the communication control device. Furthermore, when receiving data, the data sent from the other party's facsimile machine is converted into recording data, and the recording device prints it out on one side of recording paper.
