る。In electrical discharge machining, the machining conditions that can maintain stable electrical discharge machining conditions and improve machining efficiency include rest time, discharge duration, servo reference voltage, and axial feed speed during machining (
An example of this is to control the gain of the axial feed speed during machining. FIG. 17 is a block diagram showing a conventional electrical discharge machining control device using a rest time control method. In the figure, 1 is an electric discharge machining process including electric discharge phenomenon, 2
The status 113 of the electric discharge machining process is the machining power source, 4 is the status detector that detects the status quantity 2, 5 is the detected value, 6 is the pause time setting device that sets the pause time, 7 is the command value, and 8 is the pause A rest time controller controls the rest time based on the command value from the time setter 6 and the detected value 5 of the status amount of the electrical discharge machining process from the status detector 4. Reference numeral 9 indicates the amount of manipulation of the rest time. Next, the operation of the conventional electrical discharge machining control device configured as described above will be explained. The operator sets the downtime as one of the machining conditions for electrical discharge machining using the downtime contact device 8, and performs machining. The gap between the machining electrode and the workpiece during electrical discharge machining is generally 10μ.
As machining progresses, machining debris generated during electrical discharge machining will become stationary between the machining electrode and the workpiece, and electrical discharge will be concentrated in that area, resulting in secondary discharge, Abnormal discharge is likely to occur. This situation occurs because the amount of processed powder generated exceeds the discharge capacity, and the way to prevent this is to detect abnormal conditions and
In response to this, control is implemented to suppress the generation of processed powder by lengthening the pause time. The status detector 4 detects the status quantity 2 of the process, and provides the detection value 5 to the downtime controller 8 indicating that an abnormal discharge has occurred. The downtime controller 8 controls the downtime based on the specified value from the downtime setting device 6 and the detected value 5 of the status amount of the electrical discharge machining process from the status detector 4 . The rest time operation amount 9 is given to the machining power source 3. As is clear from the above explanation, control of downtime is essential to maintain stable electrical discharge machining conditions at all times.
From the point of view of machining efficiency, time that does not contribute to machining is wasted, so it is important to perform optimal downtime control in order to improve machining efficiency. In order to achieve this optimal downtime control, it is necessary to determine the conditions for increasing or decreasing the downtime based on the combination of the machining power supply pulse conditions, the shape of the machining electrode, and the material of the machining electrode and workpiece. Yes, - Boat fishing depends very much on the techniques of skilled workers. In particular, skilled workers monitor the degree of instability in the electrical discharge machining state and change the downtime accordingly. FIG. 18 is a block diagram showing a conventional electric discharge machining control device using a discharge duration control method. In the figure, 1 is the electrical discharge machining process including the electrical discharge phenomenon, 2 is the situational quantity of the electrical discharge machining process, 3 is the machining power supply, 4 is the situation detector that detects the situational quantity 2, 11 is its command value, and 12 is the electrical discharge duration. A discharge duration controller controls the discharge duration based on the command value from the setting device 10 and the detected value 5 of the status amount of the electrical discharge machining process from the status detector 4. Reference numeral 13 indicates the discharge duration manipulated variable. Next, the operation will be explained. In particular, when machining is performed using graphite material as an electrode material, the operator sets the discharge duration as one of the machining conditions for electrical discharge machining using the discharge duration setting device 8, and then performs the machining. Due to the characteristics of electric discharge machining, the longer the discharge duration, the
The amount of electrode wear is reduced and the machining accuracy is improved, but on the other hand, if the discharge duration is set too long, the discharge will concentrate at the corners of the electrode, making secondary discharge or abnormal discharge more likely to occur. Furthermore, when graphite electrodes are used,
As shown in the figure, a protrusion 41 is formed at the corner of the electrode 40,
It may even reach the point where it cannot be processed. To prevent this, abnormal discharge is detected and the duration of the discharge is shortened to wear out the protrusions generated at the electrode corners, and machining is continued under the same conditions until the machining becomes stable, and all the protrusions are removed. After it is removed, the previous conditions are restored and processing continues again. By repeatedly performing the operation B, electrode wear can be kept to a minimum, and machining time can also be shortened to a minimum. The situation detector 4 for detecting the above abnormal discharge detects, for example, the amplitude of the movement of the electrode during machining or the amount of rise from the deepest value of machining. A situation detector 4 detects a process situation amount 2 and sends a detected value 5 to a discharge duration controller 12 indicating that an abnormal discharge has occurred.
give as. The discharge duration control device 12 controls the discharge duration based on the command value from the discharge duration setting device 10 and the detected value 5 of the situation amount of the electrical discharge machining process from the situation detector 4. The discharge duration manipulated variable 13 is given to the machining power source 3. As is clear from the above explanation, controlling the discharge duration is essential to maintain stable machining, but from the perspective of machining accuracy, it is not necessarily positive and it is necessary to perform optimal discharge duration control. is important for improving machining efficiency. To achieve this optimal discharge duration control, the conditions for lengthening or shortening the discharge duration must be determined based on the combination of machining power supply pulse conditions, machining electrode shape, machining electrode and workpiece material, etc. - Boat fishing is extremely dependent on the techniques of skilled workers. In particular, skilled workers monitor the degree of instability in the electrical discharge machining state and change the electrical discharge duration accordingly. FIG. 20 is a block diagram showing a conventional electrical discharge machining control device using a servo group Mi=voltage control system. In the figure, 1 is an electric discharge machining process including electric discharge phenomenon, 2
is the status quantity of the electric discharge machining process', 14 is the electrode control system, 1
5 is a distance signal corresponding to the machining gap between the machining electrode and the workpiece that is adjusted by the electrode control system, 4 is a situation detector that detects the situation quantity 2, 5 is the detected value, and 16 is a servo reference for electric discharge machining. Servo reference voltage setter for setting voltage, 1
7 is the command value (Vref), 18 is the above command value (
A calculation unit that extracts the deviation between the detected value 5 and the detected value 5 gives the deviation 18a as an input to the electrode control system 14, and the electrode control system 14 adjusts the machining gap distance signal 15 so that the deviation 18a becomes zero. . Figures 21 and 22 show the relationship between the servo reference voltage command value Vref and the voltage waveform between poles, where vM is the average voltage between poles, TM is the no-load time, and Figure 21 shows the servo reference voltage command value When V ref is high, FIG. 22 shows the case when it is low. As shown in FIG. 21, when the servo reference voltage command value V ref is high, the average voltage VM during 8ii is high and the no-load time T8 is long, that is, the discharge standby time after voltage is applied between the poles is long. As a result, the machining IBI gap distance is 1
5 gets bigger. Moreover, as shown in FIG. 22, when the servo reference voltage command value V ref is low, the average voltage between poles V
. is low, the no-load time TM is short, that is, the discharge standby time after voltage is applied between the poles is short, and as a result, the machining gap distance g1
15 becomes smaller. Therefore, the servo reference voltage command value V
If the ref is increased, the machining gap distance 15 will be increased9.
This makes it easier to remove machining waste and stabilizes machining, but the machining speed slows down. Conversely, the servo reference voltage command value V re
If f is lowered, the distance 15 of the machining gap becomes smaller, and machining becomes unstable due to removal of machining waste h'W1, but the machining speed becomes faster. . Normally, at the start of machining, the operator determines the servo reference voltage value based on the machining details such as the machining depth, electrode shape, machining fluid supply method, electrode and workpiece material, and uses this as the servo standard. Set it on the voltage setting device 16. As is clear from the above explanation, the servo reference voltage value is essential for maintaining stable electrical discharge machining conditions and increasing the machining speed, and setting the optimal servo reference voltage value improves machining efficiency. This is important in trying to improve. In order to obtain this optimal servo reference voltage value, the machining depth must constantly change. It is necessary to determine the machining power supply pulse conditions, the area where the machining electrode faces the workpiece, the machining fluid supply method, and the combination of the machining electrode and the material of the workpiece. In general, it is necessary for a skilled worker to decide. A lot depends on the method. In particular, skilled workers monitor the degree of instability in the electric discharge machining state and change the servo reference voltage set value accordingly. FIG. 23 is a block diagram showing a conventional electrical discharge machining control device using a speed gain control method during machining. In the figure, 1 is f! Electrical discharge machining process including phenomena, 2 is a status quantity of the electric discharge machining process, 4 is a status detector that detects the process status, 5 is a detected value of the status quantity, 43 is an electrode control system, 4
3a is the response speed of the electrode controlled by the electrode control system, 44 is a speed gain setting device that sets the gain of the axis feed speed during machining, 44a is the set value that will be output from now, and 45 is the speed for the axis feed speed command value. Amplifier for applying gain, 45a
46 is an arithmetic unit that performs calculations by feeding back the detected value 4 of the situation quantity to the servo voltage command value, and 46a is its calculation output. Next, the operation will be explained. During electric discharge machining, first, a speed gain, which is one of the machining conditions, is set using the speed gain setting device 44. During electrical discharge machining, the reference servo voltage command value and the detected value of the situation quantity of the electrical discharge machining process 1 detected by the situation detector 4 are added to the calculation section 46 for calculation, and the calculation output 46a is sent to the amplifier 45.
Output to. In the amplification W45, the human power A (calculation output 4
6a) according to the gain K set by the speed gain setting device 44, and the amplified output 45a (AK=KA)
is given to the electrode control system 43. The electrode control system 43 changes the forward/backward response speed 43a of the electrode in accordance with the applied output 45a, thereby controlling the electrode in the machining process 1. FIGS. 24 and 25 show the relationship between the voltage waveform between the poles and the gain setting value 44a, and T8 in the figures represents the no-load time. When the speed gain is low, the no-load time TM varies as shown in FIG. This is because when the speed gain value is low, the response speed of the electrode becomes slow, making it impossible to follow the fluctuations between the electrodes that occurred in the previous electrical discharge machining process.
This is because it takes time to correct the amount of variation. For this reason, the machining speed becomes slow. In addition, when the speed gain is high, the response speed of the electrode becomes faster as shown in Figure 25, and it becomes easier to follow the fluctuation between the electrodes, so the fluctuation between the electrodes that occurred in the previous electrical discharge machining process The time required to eliminate the problem is also shortened. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 25, the no-load time TM, that is, the waiting time until discharge is shortened, and the machining speed is increased. However, if the speed gain is set too high, it will respond excessively to fluctuations between the electrodes, causing hunting of the electrodes and making machining impossible. Note that the speed gain setting value by the speed gain setting W44 is normally set by the operator at the start of machining based on the machining depth, electrode shape,
It is set based on the machining content depending on the machining fluid supply method and the material combination of the electrode and the workpiece. As is clear from the above explanation, speed gain is essential for maintaining stable electrical discharge machining conditions and increasing machining speed, and setting the optimal speed gain is important for improving machining efficiency. . In order to obtain this optimal speed gain, changes in the machining depth, pulse conditions of the machining power supply, area where the machining electrode faces the workpiece, machining fluid supply method, and combination of materials of the machining electrode and the workpiece are required. However, in general, it largely depends on the technique of a skilled worker, so a skilled worker should monitor the instability of the electrical discharge machining state and set a speed gain that adapts to this. The current situation is that it is changing.

Alternatively, if you try to set the pause time, discharge duration, servo reference voltage, or speed gain according to a method used by a skilled worker to perform optimal speed gain control, you may be able to properly set the qualitatively ambiguous expressions included in that method. It is difficult to describe a specific rest time control method, discharge duration control method, servo reference voltage control method, or axis feed speed control method, and individual differences occur. In addition, the system automatically adjusts the downtime according to the instability of the electrical discharge machining condition in place of the skilled worker.
When controlling the discharge duration, servo reference voltage, or speed gain, it is difficult to accurately describe the judgment criteria for skilled workers, which poses a problem in improving the efficiency of electrical discharge machining. This invention was made in order to solve the above-mentioned problems, and it has been made to establish effective machining conditions (
It is possible to appropriately and easily describe the methods used by skilled workers regarding the settings (rest time, discharge duration, servo reference voltage, speed gain) and criteria for determining the instability of the electrical discharge machining state, and also to use these methods to determine the optimal execution of machining control;
The object of the present invention is to obtain an electric discharge machining control device that can automatically make adaptive changes. [Means for Solving the Problems] The electrical discharge machining control device of the present invention provides a control means for controlling at least one of machining conditions such as rest time, discharge duration, servo reference voltage, and axial feed speed during machining. a knowledge storage means for storing a method effective for controlling the machining conditions by the control means; a situation detection means for detecting at least a machining situation necessary for the method from the electrical discharge machining process; a situation storage means for storing at least one of the detected amounts of current or past machining situations; the amount of machining situations read out from said situation storage means; and information read out from said knowledge storage means in connection therewith. and inference means for synthesizing a plurality of results obtained from the above methods and determining a command value for controlling the machining conditions by the control means.

FIGS. 1 to 4 show a first embodiment of the electrical discharge machining control device according to the present invention. In particular, it is possible to control the down time so as to keep the electrical discharge machining state optimal and to maximize the electrical discharge machining efficiency. This is an electrical discharge machining control device that can be implemented. Figure 1 shows an overall configuration diagram, including an electrical discharge machining process 1 that includes electrical discharge phenomena, a machining power supply 3 that supplies machining power to the electrical discharge machining process 1, and a rest time setting device that sets the rest time of electrical discharge machining. 6, and a rest time control word 8 for controlling the rest time based on a rest time command value 7 from the rest time setting device 6 and a command value 23a from the inference section 23 to be described later, and is output from the rest time controller 8. The pause time operation amount 9 to be determined is input to the machining power source 3. The electrical discharge machining process 1 outputs a plurality of machining status quantities 19 that are necessary for at least an effective method for performing rfli control during rest (see FIG. 2), and these status quantities 19 are input to the status detector 20. Ru. The situation detector 20 detects the amount of machining situation necessary for the method, and the detected situation value 20a is stored in the situation storage section 21. The situation storage unit 21 stores at least one of the current and past detected situation values 20a, and the situation amount 24 read from this is input to the inference unit 23. Reference numeral 22 denotes a knowledge storage section that stores effective methods for controlling downtime (see FIG. 2), and the method 22a read from this knowledge storage section 22 is input to the inference section 23. The reasoning unit 23 comprehensively determines the optimal pause time control and adaptive changes based on the situation amount 24 from the situation storage unit 21 and the method 22a from the knowledge storage unit 22,
The command value 23a for optimum downtime control determined by the inference section 23 is given to the downtime control amount 8. In addition, in FIG. 1, the part surrounded by the broken line is for generating the optimal QfUIJ command value 23a during rest.
This constitutes the main part of this embodiment. Next, the operation of this embodiment configured as described above. That is, the operation for generating the optimal command value 23a for downtime control will be explained. FIG. 2 is an example of an effective method for controlling downtime. In order to appropriately and easily describe such methods I and I[, fuzzy sets are used. For example, by using the fuzzy set shown in FIG. 3, the methods (1) and (2) shown in FIG. 2 can be written in the knowledge storage unit 22 in a rule format consisting of an IF antecedent part and a THEN consequent part. That is, it is included in method I in FIG. "Effective discharge efficiency is small", "The amplitude of electrode movement during machining is large",
“Deep machining depth” 2 “Long pause time” or included in method H. Figure 3 shows qualitatively ambiguous expressions such as "effective discharge efficiency is large,""amplitude of electrode movement during machining is small,""machining depth is shallow," and one pause time is short. Describe it using a membership function like this. For example, the feature of ``the effective discharge rate is small'' in method ① means that it is completely satisfied if the effective discharge rate is 25% or less, and the value of the metburship function is set to ``1'', and if the effective discharge rate is 75% or more, it is completely satisfied. For example, set the value of the membership function to "0" to mean that it is not satisfied at all, and set the value of the membership function to "0 to 1" to mean that it is satisfied between θ and 1 if the effective discharge rate is 25 to 75%. ”. In the same way, the "1!I amplitude of the electrode" and "machining depth" for method (2). "Destination time" and "effective discharge rate" in method ■. Qualitatively ambiguous expressions such as "amplitude of electrode movement,""machiningdepth," and pause time J can also be appropriately and easily described using membership functions. On the other hand, the situation storage unit 21 stores a situation detection value 20a obtained by detecting the machining situation amount 19 necessary for the method stored in the knowledge storage unit 22 by the situation detector 20. In the case shown in Figure 2, the effective discharge rate, the amplitude of the electrode movement,
Machining depth etc. The inference unit 23 performs fuzzy inference based on the method stored in the knowledge storage unit 22 and the situation stored in the situation storage unit 21 according to the procedure shown in FIG. 4 to determine the optimal command value 23a for downtime control. . In the same figure, ite, 24a, 24b
, 24c are detected values of "effective discharge rate", "amplitude of electrode movement during machining", and "machining depth" stored in the situation storage unit 21. In fuzzy inference, each method I, I
In I, it is investigated to what extent these situational quantities 24 satisfy the qualitatively ambiguous expression of the antecedent part described by the membership function, and in that antecedent part, the membership function with the least satisfaction is found. (detection value 24a for method I, detection 1!24c for method ■), cut the upper limit of the membership function of the consequent part, and set the membership so that it always has the largest function value among each membership function. The functions are synthesized, and the area center of gravity positions G and G of the synthesized membership functions are determined. This value is the optimum command value 23a for the pause time control. In this embodiment as described above, a method effective for performing downtime control is stored in the knowledge storage section, at least the amount of machining situation necessary for the method is stored in the situation storage section, and the method and the corresponding amount are stored in the situation storage section. Since the configuration is such that the command value for downtime can be comprehensively determined by the inference unit from the machining status quantity, it is possible to appropriately and easily describe the methods used by skilled workers regarding downtime control, and to use those methods to determine the optimal downtime. Control execution and adaptive changes can be made automatically. In FIG. 4 of the first embodiment, the antecedent part of the method describes three machining situations, and the consequent part describes one downtime control amount, but there is nothing to limit these. It goes without saying that as the number of methods increases, the optimum command value for downtime control is similarly required. moreover,
Although this embodiment does not describe adaptively changing the pause time depending on the instability of the electric discharge machining state, it can be realized using the same concept as described above. Furthermore, in the first embodiment, fuzzy sets were used in the knowledge storage section and fuzzy inference was performed in the inference section, but it is also possible to use other knowledge expressions and inference methods that are used in general expert systems. This is possible, and produces the same effects as the above embodiment. Figures 5 to 8 show a second embodiment of the electrical discharge machining control device according to the present invention. This is an electric discharge machining control device for realizing time control. Figure 5 shows the overall configuration diagram, which shows an electrical discharge machining process 1 that includes electrical discharge phenomena, a machining power source 3 that supplies machining power to the electrical discharge machining process 1, and a discharge duration that sets the electrical discharge duration of electrical discharge machining. Setting device 10 and discharge duration setting device 1
Discharge duration command value 11 from 0 and inference section 3 to be described later
A discharge duration control @12 that controls the discharge duration based on a command value 30a from 0 is provided, and a discharge duration operation amount 13 output from the discharge duration controller 12 is input to the machining power source 3. The electric discharge machining process 1 outputs a plurality of machining status quantities 25 required for at least an effective method (see Fig. 6) to control the discharge duration, and these status quantities 25 are input to the status detection @26. be done. The situation detector 26 detects the amount of machining situation necessary for the method, and the detected situation value 26a is stored in the situation storage section 27. The situation storage unit 27 stores at least one of the current and past detected situation values 26a, and the situation amount 28 read from this is input to the inference unit 30. Reference numeral 29 denotes a knowledge storage unit that stores effective methods for controlling discharge duration (see FIG. 6);
The method 29a read from 9 is input to the inference section 30. The inference unit 30 comprehensively determines the optimal discharge duration control and adaptive change based on the situation amount 28 from the situation storage unit 27 and the method 29a from the knowledge storage unit 29. The command value 30a for optimum discharge duration control determined in step 30 is given to the discharge duration controller 12. In addition, in FIG. 5, the part surrounded by the broken line is for generating the optimal command value 30a for discharge duration control,
This constitutes the main part of this embodiment. Next, the operation of this embodiment configured as described above. That is, the operation for generating the optimal command value 30a for discharge duration control will be explained. FIG. 6 is an example of an effective method for controlling discharge duration. Such methods I and If can be appropriately and easily described using fuzzy sets. For example, the seventh

For example, in Method I, the feature of "low effective discharge rate" means that if the effective discharge rate is 25% or less, it is completely satisfied, so the value of the membership function is "1", and the effective discharge rate is 75% or more. Then, set the value of the membership function to "0" to mean that it is not satisfied at all, and set the value of the membership function to "θ~1" to mean that it is satisfied between 0 and 10 if the effective discharge rate is 25 to 75%. ”. Similarly, "amplitude of electrode movement" and "machining depth" in Method I. "Discharge duration" and "effective discharge rate" in method ■,
"Amplitude of electrode movement" and "machining depth". A qualitatively ambiguous expression of "discharge duration" can also be appropriately and easily described by a membership function. On the other hand, the situation storage section 27 stores a situation detection value 26a obtained by detecting the machining situation amount 25 necessary for the method stored in the knowledge storage section 29 by the situation detector 26. In the case shown in FIG. 6, the effective discharge rate, the amplitude of the movement of the Ti pole, the machining depth, etc. The inference unit 30 performs fuzzy inference based on the method stored in the knowledge storage unit 29 and the situation stored in the situation storage unit 27 according to the procedure shown in FIG. 8 to determine the optimal command value 30a for discharge duration control. . In the same figure, 28 a, 28 b, 28 c are
These are the detected values of "effective discharge rate", "amplitude of electrode movement during machining", and "machining depth" stored in the situation storage unit 27. In fuzzy inference, each method ■. In (2), we examine to what extent these situation quantities 28 satisfy the qualitatively ambiguous expression of the antecedent part described by the membership function, and find the membership function that has the least satisfaction in the antecedent part. Cut the upper limit of the membership function of the consequent part using the value (detection value 28a2 for method ■, detection value 280 for method ■), and synthesize the metsubership functions so that they always have the largest function value among the respective metsubership functions. , and the surface W! of the synthesized mempantsubu function is Find the center of gravity positions C and G. This value is the optimum command value 30a for discharge duration control. In this embodiment as described above, a method effective for controlling the discharge duration is stored in the knowledge storage section, and a small (and necessary) amount of machining situation is stored in the situation storage section, and the method is applied to the knowledge storage section. Since the configuration is such that the command value for the discharge duration can be comprehensively determined by the inference section from the method and the machining status quantity, it is possible to appropriately and easily describe the methods used by skilled workers regarding discharge duration control, and also to explain their methods. The method allows execution of optimal discharge duration control and adaptive changes automatically. In FIG. describes one pause time control amount, but there is nothing to limit them. Also, as the number of methods increases, it is equally important to find the optimal command value for discharge duration control. Needless to say.Furthermore, although this embodiment did not describe adaptively changing the discharge duration depending on the instability of the electric discharge machining state, this can be realized using the same concept as described above. In this embodiment, a fuzzy set was used in the knowledge storage unit and fuzzy inference was performed in the inference unit, but it is of course possible to use other knowledge expressions and inference methods used in general expert systems. The same effects as in the above-mentioned embodiments are obtained. 11-1 FIGS. Figure 9 shows the overall configuration diagram, in which 1 indicates the electrical discharge machining process including the electrical discharge phenomenon, and 2 4 is a situation detector that detects the situation amount outputted from the electric discharge machining process 1, and the detected value 5 outputted from this is input to the calculation unit 18.16 is the servo standard of electric discharge machining. This is a servo reference voltage setting knob for setting the voltage, and the command value 17 (Vref) outputted from this is input to the calculation section 18, and in this calculation section 18, the deviation 1 between the detected value 5 and the command value 17 is calculated.

From the electrical discharge machining process 1 and the electrode control system 14, at least a method effective for controlling the servo reference voltage (10th
The machining status quantity 31 required for the process (see figure) is output, and this status quantity 31 is input to the status detector 32. The situation detector 32 detects the amount of machining situation necessary for the method, and the detected situation value 32a is stored in the situation storage section 33. The method 35a read from this knowledge storage section 35 is input to the inference section 36. The inference unit 36 comprehensively determines the optimal servo reference voltage control and adaptive change based on the situation amount 34 from the situation storage unit 33 and the method 35a from the knowledge storage unit 35. The command value 36a for optimum servo reference voltage control determined in the section 36 is given to the servo reference voltage controller 37. FIG. 10 is an example of an effective method for performing servo reference voltage control. Such methods I and II can be appropriately and easily described by using fuzzy sets. for example,
Using the fuzzy set shown in FIG. 11, methods I and II shown in FIG. 10 can be written in the storage unit 35 in a rule format consisting of an IF antecedent part and a THEN consequent part. A qualitatively ambiguous expression such as "servo reference voltage is low" is described using a membership function as shown in FIG. For example, in Method I, the feature of "the effective discharge rate is small" means that if the effective discharge rate is 25% or less, the value of the Metsuban-Tubb function is "1", which means that the total (satisfied) is satisfied.
If the effective discharge rate is 75% or more, the membership function value is set to 0, meaning that it is not satisfied at all, and if the effective discharge rate is between 25 and 75%, the membership function is set to be satisfied between θ and 1. The value of is set to "O~1". In the same way, method

The inference unit 36 performs fuzzy inference based on the method stored in the knowledge storage unit 35 and the situation stored in the situation storage unit 33 according to the procedure shown in FIG. 12 to determine an optimal command value 36a for downtime control. In the figure, 34a, 34b,

(Detection value 34a for method I, detection value 34c for method ■), set the upper limit of the membership function of the consequent part to l-1, so that it always has the largest function value among each membership function. The membership functions are combined, and the area centroid positions C and G of the combined membership functions are determined. This value is the optimum command value 36a for servo reference voltage control. In this embodiment as described above, a method effective for performing servo reference voltage control is stored in the knowledge storage section, at least a machining situation amount required for the method is stored in the situation storage section, and the method is stored in the situation storage section. Since the configuration is such that the command value of the servo reference voltage can be comprehensively determined by the inference section from the machining status amount, it is possible to appropriately and easily describe the methods used by skilled workers regarding servo reference voltage control, and to use those methods. Optimal servo reference voltage control execution and adaptive changes can be made automatically. In FIG. 12 of the third embodiment, the antecedent part of the method describes three machining situations, and the consequent part describes one servo reference voltage control amount, but there is nothing to limit these. . Furthermore, it goes without saying that as the number of methods increases, the optimum command value for servo reference voltage control is similarly required. Furthermore, although this embodiment does not describe adaptively changing the servo reference voltage depending on the instability of the electrical discharge machining state, this can be realized using the same concept as described above. Furthermore, in the third embodiment, fuzzy sets are used in the knowledge storage section and fuzzy inference is performed in the inference section, but it is of course possible to use other knowledge expressions and inference methods that are used in general expert systems. In this case, the same effect as in the third embodiment described above can be obtained. Needless to say, even when the number of methods increases, the optimum speed gain control command value is similarly required. Further, although this embodiment does not describe adaptively changing the speed gain depending on the instability of the electrical discharge machining state, this can be realized using the same concept as described above. In addition, in the above embodiment, Farey sets were used in the knowledge storage section and fuzzy inference was performed in the inference section, but it is of course possible to use other knowledge representations and inference methods that are used in general Exverton stems.
