Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a beautiful coated surface without performing a special surface treatment and to reduce plant cost by adhering and laminating a base consisting of the first resin material prepd. by mixing a reinforcing material such as a glass fiber in a matrix consisting of a thermoplastic resin with the second thermoplastic resin material contg. no reinforcing material. CONSTITUTION:The first resin material 3 prepd. by mixing a glass fiber as a reinforcing material in a matrix heated and softened consisting of a thermoplastic resin such as polypropylene is fed in a bottom force 2 from an injection cylinder 4. A top force 1 is applied thereon and the first resin material 3 is filled in a molding space between both forces 1 and 2 to form a molding raw material 5. When the mold is opened, the molding raw material 5 remains on the bottom force 2 as it adheres thereon. The second thermoplastic resin material 6 with excellent heat resistance and a m.p. of 180 deg.C or higher such as polypropylene is fed thereon and the top force 1 is applied thereon. The second resin material 6 is thereby laminated on the molding raw material 5 and an integratedly molded item 7 is obtd. in the bottom force 2.

However, this FRP product often has pinholes or fibers that stand out on the surface due to air bubbles contained in the gaps between the glass fibers, so it is necessary to correct this with putty or polish the surface before painting. This has the disadvantage of increasing manufacturing costs.

The purpose of this is to heat the first resin material, which is a matrix made of thermoplastic resin mixed with reinforcing materials such as glass fiber, to an appropriate temperature to soften it, and then form it between the upper and lower molds. to obtain the desired molding material.
After opening the upper and lower molds, a second molding material in a softened state that does not contain fiber reinforcement is placed on the molding material set in one mold.
0 thermoplastic resin and applying the other mold to it again to obtain a molded product in which a second resin material is laminated on the first resin material. This is achieved by a molding method and an automobile exterior panel obtained thereby.

1) Glass fiber mixed nylon resin + nylon resin 2) Glass fiber mixed polycarbonate resin + polycarbonate resin 3) Glass fiber mixed polybutylene terephthalate resin +
Polybutylene terephthalate resin [Effects of the invention] This molded product 7 has a surface of FRP with excellent rigidity made of a first resin material containing glass fiber as a reinforcing material, and a second resin with excellent heat resistance that does not contain a reinforcing material. Since it is constructed by laminating materials, surface defects such as pinholes and raised fibers, which are typical of FRP, are completely covered with the second resin layer. Therefore, even if it is directly painted, a beautiful finish can be obtained without any problems. Furthermore, since thermoplastic resin is used, there is no need to heat the mold to harden the resin during molding, making the construction of the molding machine simple and inexpensive.
