Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform excellent development even at high humidity by charging a dehumidifying material at the place where carriers and a developer are mixed in the developing device across extremely small holes. CONSTITUTION:A developer mixing part 14 is formed on the reverse side of a control member 2 and the part contacting the developer 8 includes a surface which has many extremely small holes 6 which are smaller than the grain size of the developer. The dehumidifying material 5 is charged on the opposite side from the developer 8 about the surface having the extremely small holes 6 as a border. The extremely small holes 6 which are smaller than the grain size of the developer 8 are bored in an upper wall which constitutes part of the developer mixer 14 and the dehumidifying material 5 prevents the developer 8 from being solidified through the extremely small holes 6. Consequently, a defect in printing is not caused even in a high-humidity state.

The developer 8 stored in the developer storage section 7 is transferred to a mixer 9.
The developer is conveyed to the developer mixing section 14 while being stirred. The developer 8 is mixed with the carrier 10 on the sleeve 3 in the developer mixing section 14 . The mixed developer 8 and carrier 10 are transferred to the developing station 15 by rotation of the sleeve 3.
At this time, the thickness of the developer 8 is limited by the regulating member 2.

In the developer mixing section 14, the developer 8 and the carrier 10 are mixed together.
However, the pressure is extremely high. Under high humidity conditions, the developer mixing section 1
4, the developer 8 solidifies, so that the sleeve 3
The supply of developer 8 to the top becomes insufficient, resulting in a decrease in density and fogging.
