Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the product accuracy after tip-cutting when a work is sawed by a horizontal saw machine by positioning the end part of the work clamped by a feed vise using a stopper member, automatically feeding the work a length required to be cut from a zero position, and then cutting the work. CONSTITUTION:When a work is clamped and fed by a feed vise 9, and cut by a cutting-machining unit 3 of a cutting machine 1, the end part of the work collides with a stopper member (stopper plate) 31. The colliding position is a zero position, from which the work is fed, and from the zero position the work is automatically fed a length required to be cut to the cutting-machining unit 3 side. When the feed vise 9 is moved in right direction, a pinion 21 is engaged with a rack 25 to be rotated. The rotating speed of the pinion 21 is detected by an encoder 23, and the travel of the feed vise 9 is measured and sent to NC device 29. On a command from the NC device, the feed device 9 is moved in right direction, and the work is out to a desired length by a cutting device BS.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) By the way, among the above-mentioned conventional techniques, in method (A), measurement is performed with the naked eye of the operator, so it must be carried out taking into consideration cutting allowance correction, etc. Sometimes it ended up being too long for its dimensions, and sometimes it ended up being too short, making it difficult to always ensure accurate positioning.

In the method (B), as in the method (A), the scale is adjusted by looking at the scale, so there is an error, and in order to feed the workpiece, an operation must be performed to release the workpiece from the sizing stopper. In the method (C), since the trimming roller is applied to the side surface of the workpiece, it may slip between the roller and the workpiece, or the workpiece may be deformed, making it difficult to obtain accurate dimensions.

In addition, in method (D), the workpiece is blocked from light while being pushed or pulled, so measurement errors occur due to the influence of cutting oil and dust adhering to the measurement surface of the workpiece, making it difficult to obtain accurate dimensions. That's funny. Furthermore, in the method (E), a separate material feeding device is provided in addition to the cutting machine main body, and the material feeding device is brought into contact with the workpiece to grip it, which causes a dimensional error when gripping the workpiece.

The forward end limit switch 33 attached to the moving vise 5M in step 5 detects the forward end position of the feed vise 9, and this position is set as the origin position of the tip position of the workpiece W.

The feed vise 9 is advanced and positioned, and then the workpiece W is clamped by the main body vise 7. At this time, if the limit switch 33 for the forward end is turned on before positioning, the feed vise 9 will position backward by the remaining feed amount after the grip change; the feed vise 9 will advance to the forward end position after the grip change. Thereafter, the workpiece W is clamped using the body vise 7 and a positioning operation is performed. In FIG. 7, 8 dimensions are measured in advance and stored in, for example, the NC device 29 as machine parameters, and dimension C is the cutting dimension + cutting allowance.

In this way, the workpiece W can be clamped by the feed vice 9 to locate and position the origin. During positioning, if the feed length is insufficient, normal frequency feed is performed. Therefore, everything from the time the workpiece is carried in and clamped with the feed vise 9 to the end of the workpiece and the start of cutting can be performed automatically, and the precision of the end of the workpiece is much better than before, and labor is saved. can be achieved.

[Effect of the Invention 1] As understood from the above description of the embodiments, according to the present invention, the workpiece to be cut is clamped by the feeding vise and then fed to the cutting section. At this time, the end of the workpiece is abutted against the stopper member, and the abutted end of the workpiece is set at the origin position. After the workpiece is fed from this origin position to the cutting section by the cutting length using a vise and detected by the metering means, the workpiece can be cut to the desired cutting length using the cutting machine. As a result, the precision of the product obtained by cutting the workpiece is improved.
