As is well known, since an optical fiber has a fine structure, its outer periphery is coated with nylon or polyethylene, and an optical fiber coated with this coating is called a cored optical fiber. On the other hand, when connecting optical fibers, the ends of the optical fibers are cut to form end faces, and the end faces are butted against each other for connection. If the end face of the optical fiber is dirty or cracked, the loss of light at that end face will be large, so when connecting the optical fiber or performing maintenance inspection, It is necessary to observe the state under magnification using a microscope.

By the way, when observing the end face of an optical fiber with a microscope, a holder for temporarily fixing the optical fiber core wire is required. Various proposals have been made for this type of holder, but all of them have insufficient holding force acting on the optical fiber core, resulting in unstable fixation, or conversely, the holding force is insufficient. It has the disadvantage that it is too strong and can cause damage or deformation to the optical fiber, which is not satisfactory.

FIGS. 1A and 1B are a plan view and a front view showing the structure of a core wire holder according to an embodiment of the present invention. In these figures, reference numeral 1 denotes a base, and two grooves 1a and 1b each having a V-shaped cross section with different widths are formed in the longitudinal center of the upper surface of the base 1.
They are each formed in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. In this case, the width of the groove 1a is larger than that of the groove 1b. On the other hand, recesses 1c and 1d are formed along the longitudinal direction of the base 1 at both longitudinal ends of the upper surface of the base 1, and round holes 1e and 1f that open upward are formed in the recesses 1c and 1d. Each is formed. These round holes 1e and 1
Springs 2 and 3 are removably inserted into f. Further, T-shaped pressing plates 4 and 5 are attached to the recesses 1c and 1d by shafts 6 and 7 so as to be rotatable in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure, respectively. In this case, the pressure plates 4 and 5 are
Each of the end portions 4b and 5b of each of the pressing plates 4 and 5 is rotatably mounted in each of the recessed portions 1c and 1d so as to approach or separate from each other orthogonally to each of the grooves 1a and 1b. The other end portions 4a and 5a are urged upward by springs 2 and 3 inserted into round holes 1e and 1f respectively formed at positions facing them, and thereby the pressing member 4 and 5, the lower surfaces of each one end 4b and 5b are grooved 1a and 1b.

る。 In the above configuration, first, depending on the material of the optical fiber core wire to which the springs 2 and 3 are to be fixed,
It should have an appropriate biasing force. Next, either groove 1a or 1b is selected depending on the outer diameter of the optical fiber. For example, when the outer diameter of the optical fiber is relatively thick, the groove 1a is selected. Then, the other end 4a of the pressing plate 4 is pushed down against the biasing force of the spring 2, and the pressing plate 4
Rotate in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure. Next, the optical fiber core wire is placed in the groove 1a, and the pressing plate 4 is returned to its original position. As a result, one end 4 of the pressing plate 4
The lower surface of b presses the optical fiber based on the biasing force of the spring 2, and as a result, the optical fiber is clamped and fixed by the groove 1a and the pressing plate 4.

can be replaced with one having an appropriate biasing force depending on the material of the optical fiber core to be fixed, and the groove 1a or 1b with an appropriate width can be selected depending on the outer diameter of the optical fiber core. Therefore, it is possible to apply an appropriate holding force to the optical fiber core of any material or thickness, thereby preventing unstable fixation due to insufficient holding force. On the other hand, it is possible to prevent problems such as damage or deformation of the optical fiber due to too strong holding force. In addition, the pressing plate 4
The optical fiber can be temporarily fixed by simply pushing down the other end 4a.

As explained above, according to the present invention, two or more grooves having a V-shaped cross section and having different widths are formed in parallel to each other in the base, and recesses are formed in directions orthogonal to each of these grooves. , a pressing member is rotatably mounted in each recess so that one end approaches or separates from each groove orthogonally, and the pressing member is positioned in the recess at a position facing the other end of each of the pressing members. An urging member that forms a bottomed hole and urges the other end of each pressing member inside each of these bottomed holes to press one end of each pressing member against a core wire placed in each groove. are inserted removably, so the core wire can be stably fixed regardless of its outer diameter or material with a simple operation.Furthermore, the biasing member inserted into the bottomed hole can be pressed. Since it can be easily taken out from the gap between the other end of the member and the recess, the biasing member can be easily replaced with one that has an appropriate biasing force depending on the material of the optical fiber to be fixed. As a result, it is possible to prevent inconveniences such as the case where the holding force for the core wire is too strong and has an adverse effect such as damage to the core wire.
