本発明は、自動車用ドア周縁部に固着されたウ
エザーストリツプと、閉扉時に前記ウエザースト
リツプの中空シール部に圧接する車体開口縁部と
よりなる、自動車用ドア周縁部シール装置の改良

接させるとともに、該中空シール部3をその屈曲
基部4より、車体外部方向に屈曲させ、その反力
により、中空シール部3を前記外縁部B1に圧接

に嵌着されるベース部の上部を底壁の一部として

形に形成され、前記中空シール部の車室内側の縦
壁のシール面は車室外側の縦壁より長くし、前記
シール面の略中央部を車体開口縁部のコーナー部
に当接させて、前記コーナー部に隣接する外縁部
と周縁部とに前記シール面を圧接させるととも
に、前記外縁部に圧接する前記シール面端縁に
は、この圧接時に前記外縁部に密接する突縁を設
ける一方、該突縁の基部近傍にはノツチを設けた
ことから、従来前述した首振りによつて車体開口
縁部のみにてシールを行なつていたウエザースト
リツプのシール面を車体開口縁部の周縁部側にま
で延設してシール面を拡大し、これによつてシー
ル性能を向上させることができ、又このシールに
際して要する反力は、前述したいわゆる首振りに
よつて行なうものではなく、中空部の変形、換言
すれば中空シール部全体の弾性変形によつて行な
うものであることから、この首振りによる中空シ
ール部の摩耗が生ずることはなく、ウエザースト
リツプのシール耐久性能の向上を図ることもでき

消でき、車体開口部全周に渡つてシール性を向上
