Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of data collection by dividing station numbers at polling request into specific number to stations and a group number in common to plural stations so as to allow the polling in the layer type data transmission system to apply in the unit of one and plural stations. CONSTITUTION:A master station 1 uses a group station number and sends a polling request 8 to a relay station 2. In addition to each specific station number, the same group station number is assigned to the relay station 2 and slave stations 3A, 3B. Then the relay station 2 applies in advance polling to collect data D3A, D3B of slave stations 3A, 3B having the group station number and stores them. Then the relay station 2 transmits the data D2 of the relay station 2 and the data D3A of the slave station 3A and the data D3B of the slave station 3B together with polling reply 9A in response to the polling request 8 sequentially to the master station 1. Thus, the polling is applied with a required minimum number of times and in the unit of required minimum stations.

The present invention provides a hierarchical data transmission system comprising a master station, a plurality of relay stations as subordinate stations of the master station, and a plurality of slave stations as subordinate stations of the relay station, wherein the relay station is the own station. The master station issues a polling request to a slave station belonging to the relay station to collect data on the slave station, and the master station issues a polling request to the relay station to collect data on the relay station or (and) the slave station belonging to the relay station. The present invention relates to a polling method for a hierarchical data transmission system such as the one described above, and particularly relates to a polling method that allows necessary data to be collected while minimizing the number of polling operations. Note that in the following figures, the same reference numerals indicate the same or corresponding parts.

In this type of hierarchical data transmission system, the upper station collects data from the lower station by requesting the target lower station to send data, and the lower station responds with the data. There is a polling method for transmitting. In this case, it is common for the upper station to collect data from only one specific station specified at the time of the data transmission request in one polling.

However, when a data transmission system is configured hierarchically, when polling a certain station, if only data from that station can be collected, data from lower-level stations connected to that station will be collected. In order to do this, it is necessary to take measures such as including the data of the lower station in the data of that station, or having that station relay polling to the lower station. In the former case, a single aggregation process is required to incorporate the data of the lower station into the data of the own station, and the amount of data to be edited increases as the station moves to a higher level. In the latter case, a polling procedure for the number of station valves must be performed. That is, FIG. 2 shows an example of the configuration of a hierarchical data transmission system according to the prior art. In the figure, master station 1 receives data D2 of relay station 2, data D3A of slave station 3 (3A), and data D3A of slave station 3 (3A).
311), in the latter case, first specify the station number of relay station 2, the station number of slave station 3A, and the station number of slave station 3B once from master station 1 to relay station 2. The relay station 2 sends a polling request 8 to the slave station 3, and the relay station 2 sends the station number to the slave station 3. Specify the station number of each slave station 3B and make a polling request 12
.. Emit 14. In response to this request, slave stations 3A and 3B send polling responses 13.15 to relay station 2, and send their own data D3A,
D3B, and relay station 2 sends its own data D to master station 1 along with polling responses 91, 92, and 93, respectively.
2. To data D3 of slave station 3A, data D3B of slave station 3B
Send. In this case, polling from master station 1 to relay station 2,
Polling from the relay station 2 to the slave stations 3A and 3B may be performed synchronously or asynchronously. In this method, the polling procedure from the master station 1 to the relay station 2 must be performed three times. In the former case, data D2 of relay station 2 is stored in data D2 of slave station 3.
Data D3A of A and data D3B of slave station 3B are edited and included. In this way, processing can be done with one polling, but data D3A to slave station 3 and data D3A to slave station 3
It is necessary to incorporate the data D3B of B into the data D2 of the relay station 2 in advance. Furthermore, in this method, even if it is desired to collect data for only one station, data for all stations will be collected, which is not rational. Therefore, the problem of this invention is that in polling in a hierarchical data transmission system, the master station collects data from a specific station via a relay station in one polling process as in the past. , relay station and/or
The purpose of the present invention is to efficiently collect data by providing a polling method that makes a polling request using a group address that specifies a plurality of slave stations at once, and collects data from a plurality of stations at once.

This invention allows polling in a hierarchical data transmission system to be carried out on a single station basis or on multiple stations by dividing the station number at the time of a polling request into a unique number for each station and a group number (group address) common to multiple stations. This enables efficient data collection.

FIG. 1 shows an example of the configuration of a hierarchical system according to the present invention. The master station 1 transmits a polling request 8 to the relay station 2 using the group station number (group address). In this example, relay station 2. It is assumed that the slave stations 3A and 3B are assigned the same group station number (group address) in addition to their respective unique station numbers. It is assumed that the relay station 2 has previously collected and retained data D3A and D3B of the slave stations 38 and 3B having this group station number by polling. Now, in response to the polling request 8, the relay station 2 sequentially transmits data D2 of the relay station 2, data D3A of the slave station 3A, and data 03B of the slave station 3B to the master station 1 along with a polling response 9^. If master station 1 wants to collect data only from a specific station,
Polling can also be performed using a unique station number as in the past.

According to the present invention, in a hierarchical data transmission system, a master station polls a relay station using a group station number that collectively designates a plurality of relay stations and/or slave stations,
Since data of stations belonging to this group station number is collected all at once, polling operations can be performed as few times as necessary.
Moreover, since it can be carried out in units of the minimum necessary number of stations, efficient data transmission can be carried out. Moreover, no complicated procedure is required to achieve this.
