Abstract

PURPOSE:To display graphic data at the optimum reduction rate automatically without varying the reduction rate and redisplaying the data by an operator by providing a reduction rate decision mechanism and deciding the best reduction rate. CONSTITUTION:Graphic data is read out of a hard disk 2 and stored in an image memory 1. The reduction rate decision mechanism 3 uses a rate where <=25% of white dots of data are absorbed by black dots and become absent by reduction as the best reduction rate. When characters are displayed at the reduction rate, the blurring of the displayed characters is relatively small and a wide range can be seen at a time. A display memory 5 is stored with data reduced at the best reduction rate decided by the mechanism 3 and a display part 6 displays the data from the memory 5 on a CRT, etc. The displayed data are already reduced at the optimum reduction rate and the operator need to neither modify nor correct the data.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Industrial Application Field] The invention relates to a graphic data display device that reduces graphic data such as facsimile data and displays it on a display. [Prior Art] Conventional graphic data display devices of this type require an operator to specify a display reduction ratio before displaying graphic data. [Issue 8 to be solved by the invention] In the conventional graphic data display device described above, it is necessary to specify the display reduction rate before displaying the graphic data, so if the display reduction rate is not appropriate, the display reduction rate must be set again. [Means for Solving the Problems] The graphic data display device of the present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned conventional problems. It is capable of automatically determining the appropriate reduction ratio and displaying graphic data. Specifically, in a graphic data display device that displays graphic data consisting of an array of white dots and black dots on a display such as a CRT,
The system is equipped with a reduction rate determination mechanism that reduces a portion of the graphics data in advance and determines the optimum reduction rate based on the percentage of missing white points for the reduced data. [Example] Next, an example of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Fig. 1 is a configuration diagram showing one embodiment of the present invention, and Fig. 2 is a block diagram showing an embodiment of the present invention.
A diagram showing the graphic data stored in the image memory in Figure 3. Figure 3 is a diagram of the graphic data in Figure 2 reduced to the maximum size. Figure 4 is a diagram of the graphic data in Figure 2 reduced to the maximum size. It is. The graphic data display device of this embodiment includes an image memory 1, a hard disk 2, a reduction rate determination mechanism 3,
It consists of a simulation memory 4, a display memory 5, and a display section 6. The hard disk 2 stores a predetermined capacity of graphic data consisting of white dots A and black dots B arranged in a matrix as shown in FIG. The above image memory reads the graphic data from the hard disk 2,
It is something to remember. This image memory 1 has a memory capacity equivalent to one A4 size sheet (2288 dots vertically x 1728 dots horizontally). The reduction rate determination mechanism 3 determines an appropriate reduction rate for the graphic data in the image memory 1. In this case, a part of the graphic data in the image memory 1 is reduced at a predetermined reduction ratio and stored in the simulation memory 4, and the optimum reduction ratio that does not cause the characters to be blurred is selected. Note that the smaller the reduction ratio, the wider the range of graphic data that can be displayed at once, but if it is reduced too much, the characters will become blurred and difficult to read. Therefore, in this embodiment, the white point A of the graphic data is absorbed into the black point B by reduction, and the optimum reduction ratio is used when the percentage of missing data is 2596 or less. Note that the optimum reduction rate may be set to a value even smaller than 25% depending on the purpose of use.

Next, the operation of determining the reduction ratio by the reduction ratio determination mechanism 3 will be explained with reference to FIGS. 2, 3, and 4. Let the original graphic data be the kanji ``kan'' shown in Figure 2. When this is reduced to the desired size using the reduction ratio determining mechanism 3, the white point A is absorbed into the black point B as shown in Figure 3. In this case, there are 195 white points to be absorbed, and the missing rate of white point A is about 31%. Next, when the image is reduced by a factor of %, the number of white points A absorbed by black points B becomes 118, as shown in Figure 4, and the omission rate of white points A becomes approximately 19%. Figure 1 Reduction rate? The determination mechanism performs the reduction in order of decreasing magnification such as X, tail, and center in this way, and selects the reduction ratio at which the loss of white point A is 25% or less. When displayed at this reduction ratio, the characters are relatively less blurred. It is legible and allows you to see a wide area at once. The display memory 5 stores graphic data that has been reduced at the optimum reduction ratio determined by the reduction ratio determination mechanism 3. The display section 6 displays the graphic data in the display memory 5 on a CRT or the like. Note that the displayed graphic data is already reduced and displayed using the optimal reduction ratio, so there is no need for the operator to change or modify it. [Effects of the Invention] As explained above, the graphic data display device of the present invention reduces a part of graphic data consisting of an array of white points and black points in advance using the reduction ratio determination mechanism, and reduces the white points of the reduced data. Since the optimal reduction ratio is determined based on the percentage of missing data, there is no need for the operator to change the reduction ratio and redisplay the data as in the past, and the graphic data with the optimal reduction ratio is automatically displayed. Can be done.
