などに連動させたトロコイド型などのオイルポンプを設
け、エンジン運転中、オイルポンプでオイルパン内の潤
滑オイルを汲上げて、エンジン各部を潤滑するようにし
ている。トロコイドポンプを用いる場合は、一般に、第
2図に示すように、ポンプケースA内に、インナーギヤ
ーBと偏芯したアウターギヤーCを噛合せて回転自在に
挿入し、ポンプケースAをエンジンブロックDの端面に
締着し、クランクシャフトEをインナ−ギヤーBに通し
て、クランクシャフトEでインナーギヤーBを回転させ
るようにしている。又、ポンプケースAの端には、クラ
ンクシャフトEに弾接するようにオイルシールFを取付
け、オイルシールFの内側から、ポンプケースA内に穿
設した抜き孔Gを下側からエンジンブロックDの内側に
通じるように設けて、lII滑オイルの洩れを防いでい
る。このためポンプケースAが大きくなり、ポンプケー
スAの外側で、クランクシャフトEにタイミングプーリ
Hを連結して、タイミングベルトJを巻掛けている。従
って、タイミングプーリHの位置がエンジンブロックD
の端から離れ、(寸法し参照)エンジンの長さが長くな
