Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce thermal strain to a driving circuit and to improve the operability of reproduction by connecting the terminal of a terminal plate to the terminal of the driving circuit by an anisotropic conductive member. CONSTITUTION:The terminal of the terminal plate 4 where the electrode substrate 3 of a liquid crystal display element 1 is extended and the terminal of the driving circuit 5 which drives the liquid crystal display element 1 are connected by the anisotropic conductive member 7. Namely, the conductive member 7 is interposed between the terminal plate 4 and driving circuit 5 and the opposite terminals are pressed while heated at about 150 deg.C to cause conduction, thereby connecting the terminals of the both 4 and 5 electrically. Further, if the driving circuit 5 has a fault and it is necessary to remove it, the conductive member 7 is heated to about 150 deg.C or wetted with a solvent, so that the driving circuit is easily detached from the terminal plate 4. Consequently, the terminals can be connected at low temperature, so the thermal stress to the liquid crystal display element is small and the operability of the reproduction is improved.

In a conventional liquid crystal display device, for example, as shown in FIG.
Extend one electrode substrate 3 and connect it to the liquid crystal display element 1
Terminal plate 4 of the electrode terminal, and a screw drive circuit 5,
For example, an LSI element was mounted and the electrode terminals of the terminal board 4 and the terminals of the drive circuit 5 were connected with solder 6. (Unexamined Japanese Patent Publication No. 59-151137) [Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, one electrode substrate 3 of the liquid crystal display element 1 is extended to form a terminal plate 4, and a drive circuit 5 is provided on the terminal plate 4. The method of connecting both terminals with solder uses solder that has been heated to over 200 degrees Celsius.
There was a fear that thermal stress would be applied to the liquid crystal display element 1, reducing the reliability of the liquid crystal display element.

Also, -tan connection was made. When removing the drive circuit 5 because it is a defective product, it is necessary to reheat and melt the connecting solder, but this removal work table also requires heating to about 200 degrees Celsius or more, and the regeneration work is difficult. There was also the problem that her sexuality was not very good.

In view of the above-mentioned problems, it is an object of the present invention to provide a liquid crystal display device which causes less thermal distortion to the drive circuit in the connection between the electrode terminals of the liquid crystal display element and the terminals of the drive circuit, and which has good regeneration workability. The goal is to provide equipment.

The above purpose is to extend the electrode substrate of the liquid crystal display element,
In a liquid crystal display device in which this terminal board number is provided with a drive circuit for the liquid crystal display element, the terminals of the terminal board and the terminals of the drive circuit are connected by an anisotropic conductive member. Achieved by cloudy weather.

As shown in FIG. 1, the present invention includes a terminal of a terminal plate 4 having an extended electrode substrate 3 of a liquid crystal display element
An elegant feature is that the anisotropic conductive member 7 connects the terminals of the drive circuit 5 that drives the drive circuit 5 .

The anisotropic four-way member 7 is a member that, when pressed in one direction, becomes conductive in that direction and does not have conductivity in other directions. For example, as shown in FIG. Fine particles 9 of a conductive material, such as metal such as nickel (Ni), are placed in a resin 8, and this is formed into a sheet shape. As shown in FIG. 1, such a conductive member is inserted between the terminal plate 4 and the drive circuit 5, heated to a temperature of about 150°C, and pressure is applied between the opposing terminals of both members. .

In this way, after connecting both members 4 and 5, if for some reason there is a defect in the active circuit 5 and it becomes necessary to remove it, the conductive member 7 should be heated to about 150°C. The drive circuit 5 can be easily removed from the terminal plate 4 by heating it with a cloud or by moistening it with a solvent lζ.

The misfired E! mentioned above! According to A1, since the electrode terminals of the liquid crystal display element and the terminals of the drive circuit can be connected at a lower temperature than in the conventional case, the occurrence of defects such as disconnection due to thermal strain in one drive circuit is reduced, and the device reliability is improved. Further, since the connected drive circuit can be easily removed, there are effects such as improved playback workability.
