In the sealing device, the annular lip portion of the packing is formed to meander in the axial direction of the rotating shaft.

The zone contacts the lubricating oil to form an oil film, and since the lip portion slides on the oil film, friction with the rotating shaft is reduced, the life of the lip portion is extended, and the number of times the lip portion needs to be replaced can be reduced.

2 is a rotating shaft, and 2 is an annular gasket made of rubber or other material fitted to the rotating shaft 1 and held by a casing 3 around it. In the illustrated example, gaskets 2, Place 2,
Lubricating oil is supplied between the gaskets 2 and 2 from the oil hole 5. Reference numeral 6 denotes a lip portion that is pushed by a spring 7 and comes into sliding contact with the circumferential surface of the rotating shaft 1.

Since the oil film 8 is made to meander in the axial direction of the rotating shaft 1 with a meandering width of l, it is possible to form an oil film 8 extending beyond the lip portion 6 to the outside, and the lip portion 6 is in sliding contact with the rotating shaft 1 via the oil film 8. Seizure wear of the lip portion 6 is reduced.

がある。(Effects of the invention) As described above, according to the invention, since the lip part of the packing is made to meander in the axial direction of the rotating shaft, an oil film of lubricating oil can be formed on the circumferential surface of the rotating shaft with which the lip part slides. This has the effect of preventing seizure and wear of the packing, extending its life, and facilitating maintenance.
