1 and 2 show circuits for generating a peep signal using conventional circuits. 10 in Figure 1
12 is a speaker having a voice coil 13, and the output of the amplifier 10 is connected to the non-ground terminal of the voice coil 13 via a DC blocking capacitor 14. An audio input signal such as a detected output of a receiver is applied to the terminal 16, and an audio frequency signal related to time, which will be described later, is applied to the terminal 18. In FIG. 2, a positive feedback circuit 20 is connected between the input and output of the amplifier 10 via a switch 22, and a signal is applied from a terminal 24 to turn on the switch 22 at a timing related to time. In any of these methods, it is possible to provide time-related information from the speaker 12. However, this audible indication is only given when the audio amplifier is in operation, such as during transmit or standby reception in the case of a transceiver, squelch or mute. In the inactive state, the above-mentioned instruction signal is not generated. In particular, audio amplifiers that include power amplifier stages are often disabled to save power consumption.

Therefore, in the present invention, an audible instruction is given directly through the speaker regardless of the operating state of the amplifier, and even when the power supply voltage is much lower than a predetermined value, the time can be transmitted from the speaker with minimal energy consumption. Relevant signals can be given.

FIG. 3 shows an embodiment of the present invention, in which numeral 30 is an audio amplifier having an audio signal input 32, which input is adapted to receive, for example, the detection output of a radio receiver. Amplifier 30 is also provided with an amplifier deactivation signal via input 38. When this signal is applied to the amplifier 30, for example, the bias of the transistor in the power amplification stage is cut off, or the power supply to the amplifier itself is stopped. Amplifier 30 is provided with a positive supply voltage at 40 and grounded at 41.

According to the present invention, even when the amplifier 30 is inoperative due to the amplifier operation stop signal being applied at the input 38, an audible frequency sine wave or square wave signal is provided from the input terminal 48. Possibly speaker 3

A time-related signal from the CPU is given.
Typically, the microprocessor is
When applied to a PLL synthesizer receiver, it controls various functions of the receiver in response to commands from the keyboard or externally. It is also possible to provide time-related data by digitally processing the frequency of a stable reference oscillator such as a crystal oscillator. Typically this data is provided on an LED display, for example to display the current time (and day and month).
In accordance with the present invention, the processor is programmed so that the time is provided by the processor as an audio frequency signal at terminal 48 in a manner that can be determined. For example, in the present invention, a predetermined time 1
hour, 2 o'clock, etc. can be automatically identified and indicated. In this case, Figure 5 a, b, and c are 1 o'clock, 2 o'clock, respectively.
It can be a signal representing 3 o'clock, and the section t 1 ,
Between t 2 and t 3 a burst of an audible frequency sine wave or square wave occurs. Depending on the program, other distinguishable signals may also be used. Alternatively, it may be a signal instructing a predetermined timing.

When the signal described above is applied to terminal 48, transistor 42 operates in a switching mode according to the frequency of that signal, thereby causing speaker 34 to
An intermittent current I flows through the voice coil 35 of the speaker 34, which causes an audible instruction sound to be generated from the speaker 34.
In this case, the transistor 42 is intermittently turned on at the ground level or region of the signal at the terminal 48 applied to the base of the transistor 42. Since transistor 42 operates in this switching mode, it is power efficient and can sufficiently drive the loudspeaker even if power supply B+ drops significantly below a predetermined level due to some disturbance. It is therefore highly suitable for audible indications in the event of a power failure.

In contrast to the PNP type, an example is shown in which the NPN type is used. Corresponding elements are indicated by the same number with a dash. Since the transistor 42 is intermittently turned on in the region of the signal at the terminal 48', the B+ line 40' is connected to the speaker's voice coil 35', the resistor 46', the diode 44' and the transistor 42'.
