Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain stockings for a woman, each comprising a foot part having a closed end and an opened end, a leg part connected to the foot part and having a reverse V-shaped opened end, an elastic material band disposed on the peripheral edge of the opened end and a garter support, and capable of softening a pressure added to the elastic opened end. CONSTITUTION: One of the stockings 1 for a woman is produced by forming an extended foot part 3 having the first closed end 5 and the second opened end 6, disposing an extended tubular leg part 7 having the second opened end 9 and the first end connected to the second end 6 of the foot part 3 and forming the second opened end 9 of the leg part 7 in a reverse V-shaped form. An elastic material band 11 to be fixed to one of the stockings 1 is attached to a place adjacent to the peripheral edge of the opened end 9 of the leg part 7 of the stocking 1, and a garter attachment 13 is attached to the extended part of the elastic band 11. The attachment 13 is attached to a garter 15 with a hook or an eye fastener to fix to a garter belt 17.

Description

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to women's stockings. More particularly, the present invention relates to women's stockings that provide exceptional comfort by relieving pressure along the elastic open ends of the stockings.

A disadvantage of these conventional stockings is that when worn, the elastic band contracts and compresses around the wearer's thighs.

The object of the present invention is to provide women's stockings that eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks of conventional stockings.

In particular, it is an object of the present invention to provide a women's stocking with an elastic band that relieves pressure along the elastic open end.

It is also an object of the present invention to provide a combination of garter belt and women's stockings.

In the present invention, the elastic open end is shaped like an inverted square.

Next, the present invention will be explained based on the accompanying drawings.

The accompanying drawings show a perspective view of the novel stocking of the present invention and also show the garter belt arrangement supporting the stocking.

As shown in the drawings, the novel stocking 1 of the invention consists of a foot 3 having a first closed end 5 and a second open end 6. The stocking also includes an extended tubular leg portion 7 having a first end connected to said second end of the foot portion 3. The second end 9 of the tubular leg 7 is an open end and is formed in an inverted square shape. An elastic band 11 is provided adjacent to the second open periphery of the leg.

The elastic band 11 can be wrapped between two layers of stocking material or glued to the inside of the stocking. The elastic band 11 can be secured to the top edge of the stocking by any means known in the art.

In addition, as shown in the figure, the stockings are attached to an elastic band 1 for attaching to the garter 15 of the garter bell 17.
A garter attachment 13, which is an extension of 1, can be included. Preferably, attachment 13 can be attached to garter 15 with hook and eye fasteners. However, bell pads or other means well known in the art may be used for this purpose.

In operation, when the stocking is worn as shown in the accompanying drawings, an upward pulling force is applied by the garter 15 to the elastic band 11 via the garter support 13. Since a tensile force is applied to the elastic band 11, this tensile force is completely distributed throughout the band. Therefore, the stocking is supported at a single point with a relatively small force compared to conventional belts that need to be supported at two points, ie, the front and back of the stocking.

By providing the elastic band around the periphery, the stocking can be prevented from slipping down on any part of the top edge, yet can be held properly and securely despite the point of support. At the same time, the tension is sufficiently strong that it cuts off blood circulation to the wearer's thighs or causes other discomfort, such as the stockings with conventional elastic bands described in the above-mentioned US patent specification. [Claims] 1. an extended foot having a first closed end and a second open end;
an elongated tubular leg having a first end and a second open end connected to the second end of the foot; the second open end of the leg forming an inverted V-shape; and the open end of the leg A women's stocking comprising an elastic garter support means extending from the point of said inverted V consisting of a band of elastic material secured to said stocking adjacent the periphery and further comprising an extension of said band of elastic material integrally formed. . 2.
