動して交番磁界を発生させる駆動回路と、該1つ
の送信コイルが発生させる磁界を受けるように配
置された第1および第2の受信コイルと、前記磁
界中を通過する被検査体に混入した金属によつて
生じる前記第1、第2の受信コイルの誘起電圧の
変動に基づいて不平衝信号を出力するバランス回
路と、該不平衝信号に基づいて金属検出信号を出
力する検出回路とを備えた金属検出装置において
、 前記1つの送信コイルを鉄、非鉄金属に最適の
異なる二つの周波数の駆動信号によつて駆動する
と共に、前記不平衝信号を前記駆動信号と同じ二
つの周波数成分に分波し、該分波された二つの周
波数成分をそれぞれ第1の位相検波器、第2の位
相検波器によつて互いに90°異なる位相で検波
して、それぞれ鉄および非鉄についての検出信号
を出力するようにしたことを特徴とする金属検出
装置。
