Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an electric bulb from being terminated at once and facilitate the exchange of the electric bulb by providing multiple filaments connected in parallel with each other. CONSTITUTION:The first filament 1a and the second filament 1b are fitted in parallel with each other between leads 2 and 3. When a power source is turned on, both filaments are illuminated. When the first filament 1a is terminated due to its usage life, for example, if the electric bulb is exchanged before the second filament 1b is terminated, the exchanging work in the dark is eliminated. When one filament is terminated, it can be judged by the difference in luminescence, or it can be electrically detected by monitoring the current. The electric bulb can be smoothly exchanged.

With this configuration, a large number of filaments can be connected in parallel regardless of the length of the leads. As in the first embodiment, even if one of the filaments breaks, the remaining filaments continue to emit light, eliminating the need to work in the dark. Furthermore, in the case of the third embodiment, it is more stable than the first embodiment, and even if one wire is broken, the service can be continued for a considerable period of time without panic. For example, when used for car headlights, it can also be useful as a backup.
