(Industrial Application Field) The present invention uses a chuck and a lifter plate that are driven separately to rotate in synchronization, and while the can lid and can body are held from above and below and rotated under pressure, the chuck is rotated from the side of the chuck. The present invention relates to an automatic can wrapping device that tightens the can lid onto the can body by bringing a wrapping roll into pressure contact with the can lid. (Prior art) In order to tighten the can lid and can body with the automatic can tightening device, referring to Figs. 2 and 3, lifter plate 2 on which can body 6 is placed is raised in the direction of the arrow. hand,
The can lid 5 and the can body 6 (the can lid 5 is placed on the can body 6) are connected between the chuck 1, which frictionally engages with the can lid 5, and the lifter plate 2, which frictionally engages with the bottom of the can body 6. )
The flange portion of the can body 6 is rolled up around the periphery of the can lid 5 by rotating the rolls 3 and 4 while applying pressure in the vertical direction, and bringing the rolls 3 and 4 closer to the chuck 1 one by one in the direction of the arrow to a certain extent. It is common to perform seaming and forming in this manner. In addition, during this process, the lifter plate 2 is forced to rotate in synchronization with the chuck 1 so that the can body (meaning a can body with a can lid placed on it) does not suddenly rotate due to the rotation of the chuck alone. It is also known to perform seaming using a drive type. This forced drive type is constantly chucked during the seaming process.
As described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 56-163038,
After the can body clamping pressure (lifter pressure) reaches a predetermined pressure, during the seaming process, the can body is rotated using only the rotational driving force of the chuck, and the rotational driving force of the lifter plate is applied to the clutch (friction clutch). ). During seaming, the seaming roll is brought into sudden contact with and presses the peripheral part of the can lid to deform the peripheral part, so in the above-mentioned conventional device, the can lid can be tightened to prevent the can lid from slipping and rotating. The vertical load applied to the can body between the chuck and the lifter plate always creates a large pressing force. Further, in the conventional device, as shown in FIG. 3, for example, a first seaming roll 3 and a second seaming roll 4, which are rotatable (stationary or only slightly rotating due to inertia), , the can lid 5 and the can body 6 are press-contacted and driven by the chuck 1 and the lifter plate 2 from above and below, and are driven (rotated only by the press-contact force). Due to rotational resistance on the tightening roll side (rolling friction, viscous resistance of grease in bearings, sliding friction resistance of oil seals, etc.), the tightening section and the tightening roll or the tightening section and chuck do not slip. An additional amount of contact pressure (roll pressure) is required. On the other hand, the transmission path of the rotational force of the can lid that is directly processed by the roll is transmitted to the can body through the frictional force at the fitting part between the can lid and the chuck, and the frictional force between the bottom of the can body and the lifter plate. The generated rotational force is transmitted to the can lid by friction between the can lid and the flange portion of the upper part of the can body. Both of the two paths of jamming, transmission from the can lid or bottom of the can body, are due to friction created by vertical pressure on the can body. Therefore, in conventional devices, it is necessary to apply a considerable amount of vertical load to ensure the frictional force, and this load is usually in the range of 80 to 120 kgf . In order for the can body to withstand this load, the wall thickness of the can body must be increased, and therefore, it has been impossible to wrap a can body with a thin wall thickness. However, in recent years, there has been a trend to reduce the thickness of can body constituent materials as much as possible in order to save resources and reduce costs, and as a result, can bodies have become more susceptible to buckling during seaming. Therefore, as a means of reducing the load in the axial direction, the applicant of the present application has developed a method for winding by supplying a rotational driving force to forcibly rotate the first and second seaming rolls, which were conventionally driven (free rotation). Utility Model Application No. 59-11483 (Utility Model Application No. 11483-1983), in which the tightening roll is driven and rotated by itself, and an additional rotation transmission path for the can lid is added.
(Refer to Publication No. 126238). On the other hand, when tightening an aluminum lid onto a paper container, which has lower buckling strength than metal cans, which was impossible with conventional metal can tightening devices, it is possible to tighten an aluminum lid without strongly pressing the paper container from above. A tightening device for tightening a lid has been proposed, for example, in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 17732/1983. This is done by pressing the container with the lid on it with a presser member with enough force to hold it still, and pressing the groove of the seaming roll moving around the lid against the periphery of the lid, causing the periphery to roll and rotate. This device uses an interlocking clutch to operate a cam mechanism and move the support shaft of the seaming roll, which had been tilted, almost vertically, thereby tightening the seaming roll onto the lid. It is pressed against the periphery. [Problems to be solved by the invention] In the seaming device having the configurations of both of the above proposals,
In the former case (where the first and second seaming rolls are forcibly driven and rotated), the outer diameter of the can lid seaming part gradually decreases as the peripheral part of the can lid is rolled up. There is a time when there is a discrepancy in circumferential speed (difference in circumferential speed) between the can lid and the seaming roll that is being rotated, and the slip caused by this difference in circumferential speed has not yet been resolved, causing damage to the outer or inner wall of the can lid seaming part. It was found that it may cause scratches. In addition, if a slip occurs between the chuck and the can lid, not only will it cause scratches on the inner wall of the can lid seam, but also a torsional force will be applied to the can body. It was also found that this combined with the load applied in the axial direction made the can body more likely to buckle. In the latter case (the support shaft of the rotatable seaming roll is tilted to bring the seaming roll close to each other)
When the seaming roll comes into contact with the periphery of the lid, it rolls into contact with the periphery of the can lid, which is in a stationary state and is slightly holding down the seaming roll, which is either stationary itself or rotating only slightly due to inertia. Therefore, in the case of a metal can body where the deformation stress is large when wrapping the flange part of the can body (large force is required to plastically deform the metal plate), the can body will rotate and tightening will not be possible. Otherwise, the seaming will be incomplete and cannot be applied. This invention solves the above-mentioned problems, and allows automatic seaming to be performed without buckling or poor seaming even in can bodies with low buckling strength, and without causing scratches on the seaming part of the can lid. The purpose is to provide equipment. (Means for solving the problem) In order to achieve the above object, the device of the present invention grips and pressurizes the can lid 5 and the can body 6 from above and below with the chuck 1 and the lifter plate 2, and 2, and a mechanism that separately drives and rotates the first seaming roll 3 and the second seaming roll that form the seaming part. or one of the rotating shafts directly connected to the chuck 1 main body and either the lifter plate 2 main body or the rotating shaft directly connected to the lifter plate 2 main body are each provided with a one-way clutch; Either one of the first seaming roll 3 body or the first seaming roll drive mechanism 3a, and the second seaming roll 4 body or the second seaming roll drive mechanism 4a.
Either one of the two is provided with a one-way clutch. (Operation) When seaming the can lid and can body, the seaming roll that is driven and rotated comes into pressure contact with the periphery of the can lid, gradually deforming the periphery of the can lid, and until the seaming is completed. ,
As the outer diameter of the part where the can lid is seamed decreases, the circumferential speed decreases and a difference in circumferential speed occurs between the seaming roll and the seaming part, which rotate at a constant speed. Either one of the directly connected rotating shafts,
A one-way clutch is provided on either the lifter plate body or the rotating shaft directly connected thereto, and either the first seaming roll body or its drive mechanism and the second seaming roll body or this. Since a one-way clutch is provided on either side of the drive mechanism, when the circumferential speed of the can lid seaming section is slightly faster than the circumferential speed of the seaming roll, the one-way clutch on the seaming roll side The lock is slightly loosened, and the circumferential speed of the seaming roll is synchronized to match the circumferential speed of the can lid seaming part. As the seaming progresses and the circumferential speed reaches the same level, the loosened one-way clutch on the seaming roll locks again.
The circumferential speed of the can lid seaming section and the circumferential speed of the seaming roll are made the same, so that driving forces from both the chuck side and the seaming roll side are transmitted to the seaming section, so that the can lid seaming section and the seaming roll rotate synchronously. Conversely, when the circumferential speed of the can lid seaming section is slower than the circumferential speed of the seaming roll, the one-way clutch on the chuck and lifter plate side loosens slightly, allowing the can lid to match the circumferential speed of the seaming roll. The circumferential speed of the seaming part is synchronized,
Absorbs minute discrepancies in circumferential speed. Therefore, without increasing the axial load, rotational driving force can be transmitted from both the seaming roll, the chuck and the lifter plate to the part that will be seamed, even if the can body has low buckling strength. Normal seaming is possible without causing scratches on the seaming part. (Example) An example of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to FIG. FIG. 1 is an explanatory view showing an example of an embodiment of the present invention, with a part of the main part broken away. In the figure, 1 is a chuck, and 2 is a lifter plate. Both the chuck 1 and the lifter plate 2 are synchronously rotated by a drive source (not shown). 11 and 12 are a timing belt (not shown) from a rotation transmission mechanism (not shown) in order to rotate the chuck 1 and lifter plate 2.
The timing pulley is driven through the A1 is a one-way clutch provided on the support shaft 1a of chuck 1 (part of the drive mechanism of chuck 1), A2
is a one-way clutch provided on the support member 2a of the lifter plate 2 (a part of the drive mechanism of the lifter plate 2), and is a one-way clutch provided on a part of the transmission part (not shown) of the rotation transmission mechanism. They were installed in order to eliminate synchronization mismatch between the chuck 1 and the lifter plate 2, which occurs instantaneously due to back crashes, etc. On the other hand, 3 is a first seaming roll, and 4 is a second seaming roll.
A is configured to supply power to the first and second seaming rolls 3 and 4 to drive and rotate them by themselves. Furthermore, in the case of this embodiment, one-way clutches A3 and A4 of well-known mechanisms are provided in the drive mechanisms 3a and 4a of the seaming rolls 3 and 4, respectively. Normally, when the seaming rolls 3 and 4 rotate, the timing pulley 13 and the one-way clutch A
3. The configuration is such that the rotational driving force is transmitted to the seaming roll 3 via the timing pulley 13', a timing belt (not shown), and the timing pulley 13''. The rotational driving force is transmitted through 14, A4, 14', 14''. The one-way clutches A1, A2, A3, and A4 are clutches using cylindrical rollers and inclined cam surfaces, and when rotating in the opposite direction, the engagement between the cylindrical rollers and the inclined cam surfaces loosens, and the driving force is transmitted. A conventional one-way clutch was used. The circumferential speeds of the first and second seaming rolls are as follows: can lid 5 and can body 6
Each setting is made in advance based on the decrease in the flange outer diameter (the outer diameter of the seaming part) accompanying the first and second seaming, but in this example, the flange outer diameter is small at each seaming stage. Since the circumferential speed of the seaming portion changes (decreases) in two stages as the seaming portion increases, the diameter of the seaming rolls was selected so that the circumferential speed set for each seaming roll was an intermediate speed between the respective changes. A comparative test was conducted between the seaming device with the above configuration and a conventional device in which the seaming roll rotates freely. The required minimum axial load to obtain normal seaming without scratching the seaming part was measured. The comparison results are shown in Table 1, and an illustration of each part used in Table 1 is shown in FIG. In addition, FIG. 4a shows the state before seaming, and FIG. 4b shows the state after seaming.

という効果を奏するものである。[Table] From Table 1 above, the minimum shaft load required to clamp the can lid and can body is 85 kgf for the conventional device, but with the device of this example, it has been significantly reduced to 15 kgf, about 1/5 of that of the conventional device. I understand that. The reason for this will be explained below. First, when we analyze the uses of the force (axial load) applied to the can body required for seaming, one is to rotate the aforementioned driven seaming roll, and as a result, to wrap the flange between the can lid and the can body. Imparting rotational force to the seaming roll,
The other is the stress caused by deformation that involves the tips of the flanges of the can lid and can body. Therefore, the first reason is that the present invention provides power to the first and second seaming rolls 3 and 4 to drive and rotate them by themselves.
Not only can the above-mentioned two-way consumption power be supplied separately, and the force that passes through the chuck and lifter plate is not substantially consumed, but also the rotational force is imparted to the flanges of the can lid and can body, allowing the chuck and lifter plate to One example of this is that it was able to assist the rotation of the can lid and can body and reduce the pressing load (axial load) on the chuck and lifter plate. The second reason is that if power is supplied to the first and second seaming rolls 3 and 4 to drive and rotate them, the can lid 5 and the can body 6 will be damaged.
Due to the change in the outer diameter of the flange due to the seaming, a slight circumferential velocity disharmony occurs in the seaming portion between the seaming rolls 3, 4 and the chuck 1 and lifter plate 2. However, in the present invention, one-way clutches A1, A2, A3, Install each A4 sheet to absorb the slight misalignment that occurs.
One of the key points is that the entire rotation system always rotates in synchronization and harmony. To explain in more detail, when the circumferential speed of the seaming roll is slightly slower than the circumferential speed of the can lid, the locking of the one-way clutches A3 and A4 on the seaming roll side becomes slightly loosened, and the circumferential speed of the seaming roll decreases. It rotates synchronously to match the circumferential speed of the can lid, and when the seaming roll gradually tightens and reaches the same circumferential speed, the one-way clutch on the seaming roll side, which had been loosened, re-locks again, increasing the circumferential speed of the seaming roll. The circumferential speeds of the can lid seaming section are synchronized, and the seaming section is rotated by driving force from both the chuck and the seaming roll, and the axial load can be effectively used as the seaming deformation force. As the seaming progresses further and the relationship between the circumferential speed differences reverses, and the circumferential speed of the seaming roll becomes slightly faster than the circumferential speed of the can lid, one chuck, the one-way clutch A1 provided on the lifter plate side, , A2 are slightly loosened, and the circumferential speed of the can lid with the seaming roll can be maintained in synchronized rotation. After all, if there is a difference in circumferential speed between the seaming roll or the can lid during the seaming process, it is necessary to adjust the peripheral speed to whichever is faster, and at the same peripheral speed, the driving force from both is transmitted so that they can rotate in sync. This is understood to be because the one-way clutch operates and the driving force is rotationally transmitted to the portion of the seaming roll and chuck that essentially becomes the seaming portion. In this embodiment, the one-way clutches on the chuck and lifter plate sides are provided on the respective directly connected shafts, but the present invention is not limited to this, and any position where the same function can be achieved can be used, for example, directly on the chuck or lifter plate. It can be built into the plate, or it can be a one-way clutch installed on the seaming roll side. Considering the inertia of the drive system, each clutch should be placed as close to the can lid seaming part as possible. It's good to do that. Further, when setting the circumferential speed of the seaming roll, the circumferential speed may be set by changing the diameter of the timing pulley other than in this embodiment. (Effect of the invention) As shown in Table 1 above, the load in the vertical direction of the can required to transmit rotational force to the can lid and can body was reduced by the conventional method85.
It can be reduced to 15Kgf, which is about 1/5 compared to Kgf .
The uneven rotation of the chuck, lifter plate, and first and second seaming rolls can be virtually eliminated, and because they all rotate in unison, it is possible to seam thin-walled can bodies without generating torsional force on the can body. The present invention has the effect that it is possible to obtain a seamed can that does not cause scratches on the seamed portion.
