Abstract

PURPOSE:To absorb strain due to the compression of the expansion of the diameter of both edges of a pressure roll by providing the pressure roll constituted of a shaft core and coating elastic body formed on the outer periphery thereof, and providing reliefs on both edges of the elastic body in its axial direction. 【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は未定着画像を定着させる定着装置に関する. 〔従来の技術〕 従来、この種の定着装置に用いられる加圧ローラは第3

ていた. 〔発明が解決しようとする課題〕 上述した従来の定着装置は加圧ローラの弾性体1の軸方
向両端部が中実横遠になっていたため、発泡シリコンゴ
ム.スポンジ等の弾性体1を膨張させて成形する際に生
じる加圧ローラの両端部の外径のふくらみ1aの圧縮変
形による歪を吸収することができなかった. そのため、記録材のエッジ部が前記外径のふくらみ1a
と強く接触し、加圧ローラの削れ、コーティング部の削
れによる浮遊トナー付着、さらにはNIP巾が軸方向両
端部で大きくなるため、記録材におけるシワ発生をまね
くという欠点がある.本発明の目的は前記課題を解決し
た定着装置を提供することにある. 〔課題を解決するための手段〕 前記目的を達成するため、本発明は記録材上に転写され
たトナー画像を前記記録材上に定着させる定着装置にお
いて、軸芯及び前記軸芯の外周に被覆成形された弾性体

に、圧縮変形による歪を吸収する逃げを備えたものであ
る. 〔実施例〕 次に本発明について図面を参照して説明する.第1図は
本発明の一実施例を示す縦断面図である. 図において、熱源8を備えた加熱ローラ3はフレーム6
