Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a low noise amplifier from being destroyed due to an interference wave having a level of the intensity by interrupting an output of a DC power supply of the low noise amplifier with a reception wave having a prescribed level or higher in a satellite communication antenna. CONSTITUTION:A radio wave from a satellite is received by a satellite communication antenna 1 and sent to a low noise amplifier 4 via a path 2b by a transmission reception branching device 2. The low noise amplifier 4 amplifies only a signal at a required band in the reception signals with a low noise and sends the result to a receiver 5. The receiver 5 applies frequency conversion to the signal and demodulates it. A detector 6 detects the reception level of the output signal of the low noise amplifier 4 and compares it with a reference value of the reception level set by the detector 6. When the reception level outputted from the low noise amplifier 4 is higher, the detector 6 issues a command of DC power supply OFF with respect to the low noise amplifier 4. The low noise amplifier 4 uses the DC power supply OFF command to turn off the DC power supply and prevents itself from being destroyed by an external interference wave with a high reception level.
