コンピュータ、ワープロ本体等は通常表示装置、プリン
タ、画像入力装置と接続して使用される。上記システム
全体の省スペース化、省電力化を実現するために表示装
置としては液晶パネルを用いたものがあった。液晶パネ
ルは透明な電極をつけた2枚のガラス板の間に液晶を封
入し、電気信号によって液晶分子の配列方向を変え光の
透過量を制御するbのてあり、口n所ての視認性を向上
させるために液晶パネルの背面から照明を行ういわゆる
バックライト方式のものが多い。画像読取装置に関して
は、読取位置が不動で読取原稿を搬送させるこ、とによ
って読取を行ういわゆるシートスル一方式にしたものか

向は鏡面になっており、画像読取機構が配置されている
方向へのみ光が放射されるようになっている。このよう
にして2本の冷陰極管から1IIi晶表示装置と反対側
へ照射された光は波長変換集光フィルムを通じて、画像
