Abstract

PURPOSE:To smoothly print a character by performing an interpolation processing to an enlarged dot pattern train which has been developed on a memory, based on information such as a leading address of the memory in which a dot pattern has been stored and a size, etc. CONSTITUTION:In facsimile equipment, in the case of enlarging a dot pattern of a character font, with respect to an enlarged dot pattern train which has been developed already on a memory, it is decided that an interpolation is necessary on a host control side. Subsequently, by performing the interpolation processing, based on information such as a leading number of the memory in which the dot pattern has been stored and a size of the dot pattern, etc., the interpolated dot pattern is developed on said memory. In such a way, a smooth character can be printed.

In the character interpolation method of the present invention, when enlarging the dot pattern of a character font in a facsimile machine, the upper control side interpolates the enlarged dot pattern string that has already been developed on the memo screen. is necessary, and performs interpolation processing based on information such as the starting address of the memory where the dot pattern is stored and the size of the dot pattern.
It has a character interpolation function that develops patterns.

FIG. 1 is a 16×16 dot pattern, and FIG. 2 is a pattern obtained by enlarging FIG. 1 to 32×32 dots without interpolation. Figure 3 is a 32x32 dot pattern obtained by interpolating Figure 2, and as shown in Figure 4(a), the reference point 1 is black, the lower right dot 4 is black, and the right dot is black. If the conditions that dot 2 is white and the lower dot 3 is white are satisfied, or as shown in FIG. 4(b),
Each dot 2 and tod 3 is converted to black only when the following conditions are met: reference point 1 is black, lower left dot 4 is black, left dot 2 is white, and lower dot 3 is white. This is the result of interpolation.
