Because of its excellent biocompatibility, it is expected to be used as an implant material for artificial tooth roots and artificial bones. However, these calcium phosphate compound ceramics alone cannot be said to have sufficient strength and toughness to withstand the mechanical impact and stress that occurs when used as artificial bones or artificial tooth roots, and are not suitable for practical use. The reality is that it has not yet been fully developed.

The technology of combining heat-resistant inorganic fibers such as whiskers with acid calcium compound ceramics is attracting attention as an effective method.

Therefore, large shrinkage occurs during sintering, and the added heat-resistant inorganic fibers, such as whiskers, are significantly deformed or, in extreme cases, breakage.

It was generated by When such a matrix is obtained, since it is a high-density compact, there will be no large shrinkage during firing, and as a result, the heat-resistant inorganic short fibers will not be significantly deformed or broken. Therefore, the present invention is advantageous in obtaining not only high density fibers but also extremely excellent adhesion between the fibers and the matrix.

好適といえる。The fiber-reinforced calcium phosphate compound ceramic of the present invention contains 1 to 4 heat-resistant inorganic short fibers in the matrix.
Preferably, the content is 5% by volume. The reason for this is that when the content is less than 1% by volume, there is no effect of substantially improving strength and toughness, whereas when it is more than 45% by volume, the heat-resistant inorganic short fibers are contained in a matrix made of calcium phosphate compounds. This is because the homogeneous dispersibility in the glass deteriorates, resulting in poor strength and toughness, and therefore 5 to 25% by volume is more preferable.

This is because there is a high risk of damage, making it difficult to produce fiber-reinforced ceramics with high strength and high toughness.

酸カルシウム系化合物セラミックスとなるのである。This firing needs to be performed at a temperature of at least 600°C or higher. In other words, when the temperature exceeds this temperature, "calcium phosphate compound fine powder", "calcium phosphate compound ceramics produced when the calcium phosphate compound precursor solution is fired", and "heat-resistant inorganic short fibers" are produced. This is because it is possible to firmly bond and bring them into close contact with each other. Furthermore, it is necessary to reduce the remaining voids by firing shrinkage, and the resulting ceramic becomes a fiber-reinforced calcium phosphate compound ceramic with extremely excellent strength and toughness.

物セラミックスを製造することができるのである。The second reason is that the formed body is impregnated with a calcium phosphate compound precursor solution and then dried and/or Y-baked. After such treatment, the voids of the molded body are filled with a calcium phosphate compound or its precursor, resulting in a high density. Therefore, the subsequent firing can be done at a low temperature and in a short time. As a result, there is no significant shrinkage during the manufacturing process, which prevents the heat-resistant inorganic short fibers from being significantly deformed or broken, resulting in high strength and high toughness. This makes it possible to produce high-density, fiber-reinforced calcium phosphate compound ceramics with small crystal grain sizes and extremely excellent adhesion between the heat-resistant inorganic short fibers and the matrix.

If the density is too low, the density cannot be increased, and in order to obtain a high density, the number of impregnation and drying steps must be increased, which is undesirable because it takes time and effort to manufacture.

クスをより確実なものにすることができる。As explained above, according to the method for producing fiber-reinforced calcium phosphate compound ceramics of the present invention, there is almost no deformation or breakage of the heat-resistant inorganic short fibers composited during production, and the fiber-reinforced The heat-resistant inorganic short fibers can be uniformly dispersed three-dimensionally in the calcium phosphate compound matrix and intertwined with each other. Therefore, fiber-reinforced calcium phosphate compound ceramics suitable for use as high-strength, high-toughness implant materials can be easily produced. In addition, according to the production method of the present invention, the heat-resistant inorganic short fibers and the matrix have extremely good adhesion, and it is possible to produce a high-density molded product with small crystal grain size. The toughness value of fiber-reinforced calcium phosphate compound ceramics can be made more reliable.
