Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the dissolution and melting damage of platinum (alloy) and to improve the durability by using a hollow stirring rod for glass industry made of platinum (alloy) at least at the outer surface contacting with glass and introducing a cooling gas into the hollow part of the rod. CONSTITUTION:A stirring rod 4 for glass industry is composed of a support 1 made of a platinum or a platinum alloy at least at the outer surface contacting with glass, a spiral blade 2 attached to the outer circumference of the lower part of the support 1 and a U-shaped blade 3 perpendicularly attached to the support 3 at a part above the spiral blade. The support 1 and the blade 3 of the stirring rod 4 have hollow structure and the hollow parts of the support 1 and of the blade 3 are connected with each other via a through- hole 5. A pipe 6 for blasting cooling gas is inserted into the support 1. A cooling gas is introduced from a cooling gas source through a blasting tube 6 into the support 1 and the blade 3 to lower the outer surface temperature of the stirring rod 4. The glass contacting with the outer surface of the rod is solidified in the form of a thin film during stirring to protect the outer surface of the stirring rod 4.

(Function) Since the stirring rod for the glass ceramic industry of the present invention is constructed as described above, air or N2 gas, A
By blowing inert gas such as R gas to lower the temperature of the outer surface of the platinum or platinum alloy of the stirring rod, the molten glass that comes into contact with it during stirring solidifies into a thin film, so the outer surface of the platinum or platinum alloy is protected. This prevents elution and erosion.

(Embodiment) An embodiment of the stirring rod for the glass ceramic industry of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Reference numeral 1 denotes a column, and a spiral blade 2 is attached to the outer periphery of the lower part of the column 1, and a spiral blade 2 is attached vertically to the upper side of the column. A letter-shaped wing 3 is attached symmetrically, and these struts 1, the spiral wing 2, and the U-shaped wing 3 are made of platinum or a platinum alloy, in this example P.
It consists of t-RhlO%. The strut 1 and U-shaped blades 3 of this stirring rod 4 for the glass ceramics industry are not hollow, and the inside of the strut 1 and the U-shaped blade 3 are communicated through a through hole 5, and Pt-Rh1
The upper end of the cooling gas blowing pipe 6 made of 0% is connected to a supply source of cooling gas (in this example, N2 gas (not shown)).
N2 gas is blown into the support column 1 and the U-shaped blade 3.

(Effects of the Invention) As can be seen from the above description, the stirring rod for glass ceramics of the present invention blows cooling gas into the stirring rod during stirring of glass melting to lower the outer surface temperature of platinum or platinum alloy. Since the molten glass in contact can be solidified into a thin film, the platinum or platinum alloy is protected and prevented from elution and erosion. Therefore, the stirring bar can be used for a long period of time, improving its durability and extending its lifespan. In addition, since platinum or platinum alloys do not dissolve into the molten glass, the molten glass is not contaminated and the characteristics of the glass are
This has the effect of maintaining quality.
