The reading data string input from the key manual means is divided into phrases using a word dictionary that stores grammatical information about the words and an adjunct dictionary that stores conjunctions, etc. It performs kanji conversion and displays the converted character string numbers containing kanji on the screen. However, in Japan, there are kanji with the same reading but different characters (letter notation), that is, homophones (homophones), so the converted word may be different from the word intended by the user. Therefore, the document creation device uses the converted homophone (
(Kana character strings may also be treated as homonyms) are not treated as the final conversion result, but are treated as homonyms that can be switched to other homonyms at the user's request, that is, homonyms that are subject to selection operations. The homophone that is currently the target of selection operation (selected homophone) is displayed on the screen with specific display attributes so that the user can recognize it.

だけでは不十分である。In such document creation devices, if the homophone that is the target of a selection operation is not the desired word, the user can perform a key operation to request switching to another homophone (homophone candidate). . However, for personal names, place names, technical terms, etc., there are often no candidates registered in word dictionaries, and even if you switch homophones for these types of terms, you cannot obtain the desired word. First, simply converting kana to kanji using a word dictionary is not sufficient.

As shown in Publication No. 82, a dictionary (single kanji dictionary) is prepared in which the reading of one kanji character and candidates for kanji with that reading (referred to as single kanji) are registered.
A single kanji conversion function is provided to convert the u position into kanji. In a document creation device having this single kanji conversion function, when single kanji conversion is instructed for an input reading, single kanji candidates for this reading are displayed on the screen. When one of the single kanji candidates displayed on the screen is selected by a user operation, the single kanji for the above reading is determined, and the character code (kanji code) corresponding to that kanji is included in the document string information. embedded in. This is called single kanji selection confirmation. When this selection is confirmed, the kanji code is embedded in the document character string, so if the selection is confirmed by mistake, the character must be deleted and the single kanji conversion operation must be repeated from the beginning.

る。[Structure of the Invention] (Means for Solving the Problem) This invention provides a method for selecting one of the single kanji candidates obtained by converting the input reading into a single kanji, and selecting the designated single kanji. A cancellation instructing means for instructing cancellation of the selected and confirmed single kanji in a state that it is confirmed and displayed on the screen, and a discriminating means for discriminating whether or not an instruction is given by the cancel instructing means are provided, and the discriminating means makes a distinction. Depending on the result, the selection confirmation state of the single kanji is canceled, and the candidate word that was displayed immediately before the selection confirmation (having the same reading as the previously selected kanji) is redisplayed. .

の起動をかける。The input/output control section 21 displays the characters loaded in the input buffer 28 in order from the cursor position currently displayed on the screen. Note that this device is equipped with a cursor position register that stores the coordinates of the X digit and Y line on the screen, and also stores the coordinates of the display memory (which the display section 22 has) corresponding to the coordinates on the screen. Storage locations are managed. Then, the display section 22 writes the cursor pattern into the display memory according to the contents of the cursor position register and displays the cursor. Further, each control section shown in FIG. 1 is configured so that the current cursor position can be determined by looking at the contents of the cursor position register. Also, since the position of the first line on the screen is managed separately, adding the contents of the cursor position register and the X and Y coordinates of the first line on the screen will determine the line in the page where the cursor is currently located. It is now possible to grasp the position of the digits. Therefore, the input/output control unit 21 reads the contents of the cursor position register, sequentially increments digits from this position coordinate, and passes the display position coordinate and character code to the display unit 22. When the conversion/next candidate key 12 is operated in this state, the input/output control unit 21 passes the kana character string stored in the input buffer 728 to the kana-kanji conversion control unit 23, and activates the kana-kanji conversion.

略する。The kana-kanji conversion control unit 23 starts the ephemeral-kanji conversion processing unit 24, searches a general dictionary from the input kana character string, extracts independent words and adjunct words, and takes into account grammatical connections, use of predicates, etc. The system extracts phrases using the syntax check, outputs homophones of independent words for which the grammar check was successful, and performs kana-kanji conversion. Since the method of kana-kanji conversion is well known to those skilled in the art, detailed explanation will be omitted.

This code (hereinafter referred to as the undefined conversion result code) contains a pointer (homophone buffer pointer) indicating the beginning of the area where homophones are stored.
1 is set. Also, a flag 42 for distinguishing this code from a normal character code, and a flag 4 for indicating that this homophone is a target of selection processing.
3 is also provided. That is, the attribute that a homophone exists is indicated by a flag 42, and the corresponding homophone group is stored from the storage position of the conversion result storage buffer 30 indicated by the pointer 41.

This indicates that this reading is subject to homophone selection. The conversion result storage buffer 30 includes a character code storage section 52, a character count storage section 53, a flag (display flag) 54 indicating a word to be displayed as a candidate from a homophone group, and the next homophone for the same reading. A pointer storage section 55 (if the end code E is stored in the pointer storage section indicates that the word is the last of the homophones) is provided. As shown in Figure 5, there are four homonyms for "ko": "ko/ko/ko/ko", and there are also two and eight homonyms for "fuukei" and "gaku", respectively. It has been shown that there is a homophone power of j. In this embodiment, words written in hiragana are also stored as one of the homonyms. A display flag 54 is set for each reading to be displayed as a candidate. As shown in FIG. 5, a display flag 54 is currently set for each of the candidates "ko", "landscape", and "writing".

The conversion result storage buffer 30 is accessed, the next homophone is newly searched from the pointer (pointer storage section) 55 of the word for which the currently displayed flag 54 is set, and the currently displayed flag 54 is turned on. At the same time, the string after this word is redisplayed. At this time, the number of characters increases or decreases, so the input/output control unit 21 deletes the undefined conversion result code (when the number of characters decreases) based on the number of characters of the homophone candidate read from the conversion result storage buffer 30. , insertion (when the number of characters increases), and also processes the padding and tracking of subsequent character strings. Confirmation of the desired word is performed by pressing the selection/execution key 13, but when the selection/execution key 13 is pressed while the desired word is displayed, the input/output control unit 21 changes the information in the document buffer (51). In place of the undefined conversion result code of the portion to be selected, the character code of the homophone pointed to by the pointer (41) of this code is entered.

Further, the corresponding homophone group in the conversion result storage buffer 30 is left without being cleared (step Sl).
. Next, the input/output control unit 21 searches for a homophone group based on the undefined conversion result code pointer (in this case, "C") in the document buffer (51), and searches for a string of hiragana characters (equivalent to the reading). The single kanji conversion processing unit 25 accesses the single kanji dictionary 27 to read homophones and allographs, and the single kanji conversion result storage buffer 31

Next, the input/output control section 21 numbers the kanji stored in the single kanji conversion result storage buffer 31 in units of a predetermined number (10 in this case) and passes them to the display section 22, which displays the kanji as shown in FIG. As shown in screen a, each kanji is numbered and displayed (if it cannot be displayed, convert/

Next, the previously saved unconfirmed conversion result code [1: 1: C] is read out, the homophone group in the conversion result storage buffer 30 is searched, and the word for which the display flag 54 is set ( character code) (in this case, ``written <''). Since the selection flag (43) is set on the unconfirmed conversion result code, this character code is sent to the display section 22 with an underline attribute attached. The display section 22 displays an underlined character ("written <") from the position specified by the cursor position register, and also displays a cursor at the position specified by the cursor position register. If the display screen d in FIG. 3 is displayed and the screen stops, this operation enters the key-operation standby mode, but in the case of the display screen C, steps S1, S2. Repeat the operation of S3 to wait for key power during single kanji conversion. Note that if another key is pressed before the cancel key 14 is pressed, the input/output control section 21 clears the contents of the save buffer 29 and executes the specified process.

Therefore, it becomes possible to perform a selection operation again targeting this candidate word. Therefore, even if a single kanji is selected incorrectly, it is now possible to correct the reading of the single kanji once the selection has been confirmed, without re-entering it after securing an input area for the number of readings. .
