DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a type of correction fluid that is applied to written or printed characters to hide them, and includes water-based inks, oil-based inks, typewriter ribbon inks, and stamp inks. This correction liquid can be used with any writing or printing ink such as ink or PPC toner, and is characterized by its strong adhesion to paper, excellent surface smoothness, and the creation of a uniform correction coating.

Conventionally, there are two types of correction fluid: water-based and oil-based.The former uses water-soluble resin as a binder and is used as a correction fluid for oil-based inks that does not dissolve in water, which is a solvent. has been used as a correction fluid for water-based inks that uses oil-soluble resin as a binder and does not dissolve in solvents that dissolve it. However, from the user's perspective, it is very complicated to distinguish between these two types, and in particular, the water-based type has the drawback of poor drying properties after application, making it difficult to use. Therefore, in recent years, as writing instruments have become more and more diverse, correction fluids called "universal type" have emerged that do not require the use of water-based and oil-based types, that is, can be used with both water-based and oil-based inks. In general, writing and printing ink components include colorants such as dyes and pigments, binders such as resins, oils and fats such as surfactants, alcohols, ketones, esters, etc. to dissolve and spread these well. Comprised of relatively polar solvents such as ethers, chlorides, amines, aromatics, and water, "all-purpose" correction fluids dissolve these inks and transfer colored components onto the correction coating. Very low polarity solvents such as aliphatic or naphthenic hydrocarbons that do not float must be used, and the types of resins that can be dissolved in these solvents are therefore extremely limited.
In addition, we investigated the dispersibility of titanium oxide, which is a pigment used as a binder in correction fluid, the characteristics of correction coatings,
It has been extremely difficult to select a resin that has sufficient properties such as solution viscosity.

Currently, the main component of the binder used in this existing "universal" correction fluid is a type of styrene-butadiene elastomer, but if this is used as the main component of the binder, it will be difficult to correct the problem after application. The leveling properties of the paint film (smoothness of the paint film after application) are poor, resulting in uneven brushing and flaking, and the hardness of the film is too soft, making it difficult to rewrite on top of the paint film with a writing instrument. There were drawbacks such as poor adhesion. As a result of intensive research into this "universal" correction fluid, the present inventor found that in a system containing aliphatic or naphthenic hydrocarbon-based solvents and titanium oxide, cyclized as the main component of the binder. It was discovered that the above drawbacks could be sufficiently overcome by using rubber. When cyclized rubber is used as the main bonding component, it has a high dispersion ability for titanium oxide, good solution viscosity, and good leveling properties during application, resulting in a smooth and uniform correction coating. The adhesion is also very strong and satisfies all the requirements for a correction fluid. In addition, as a bonding agent for the cyclized rubber, butadiene rubber, butyl rubber, styrene-butadiene elastomer, ethylene propylene rubber, etc., which are compatible with the cyclized rubber and soluble in the above solvent, are used to finely adjust the strength of the coating film. May be used together. In this case, the optimum amount of addition is less than 40% by weight based on the cyclized rubber.

Example 1 45 parts by weight of titanium oxide and 12 parts by weight of n-heptane were added to a solution of 5.6 parts by weight of cyclized rubber and 1.4 parts by weight of butadiene rubber dissolved in 36 parts by weight of cyclohexane, and the mixture was ground and dispersed in a ball mill for 12 hours. Created. The correction liquid prepared in this way can be applied to all kinds of writing and printing inks such as water-based ink, oil-based ink, typewriter ribbon ink, stamp ink, and PPC toner without lifting the colorant in the correction character ink. A repair coating was obtained that had good concealment coverage and good leveling properties, was smooth and uniform, and had strong adhesion to paper.
