Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain the optical recording to a tape-shaped carrier by separating a light receiving element from an actuator. CONSTITUTION:The light from a light source means 5 of a laser diode is reflected through a light separating means 3 with a beam splitter in a hollow shaft 2 of a rotating cylinder 1 and a light converging means 4 of the objective lens mode of a microscope near the outer circumference of the cylinder with a tape-shaped record carrier 8 and again, through means 4 and 3 enters a light receiving means 6. The output of the means 6 is divided through a pre-treatment processing means 11 into an information signal (a) and a control error signal (b), the signal (b) enters a light source control means 12, adjusts the phase compensation, control gain and the like, an actuator is controlled and the position of the means 5 is moved. A light receiving element 6 for detecting a control signal is held in the cylinder 1, separated from the actuator controlled, and therefore, tracking is easy to be obtained, the centrifugal force does not function for the actuator and the electric power of the circuit in the cylinder is also smaller. The carrier 8 is not brought into contact with the cylinder 1 of the high speed rotation directly and the non-contacting recording and reproducing can be realized.

The concept of a recording/reproducing apparatus using a tape-shaped record carrier is described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 57-64333. This is simply the use of an optically recordable tape-like record carrier instead of the magnetic tape of a video tape recorder (VTR).

The recording and reproducing apparatus disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 57-64333 incorporates an optical pinocassive device in the cylinder. The pink amplifier includes a focusing device and a trunking device such as those used in optical disk devices. However, it is difficult to supply power to the rotating cylinder, and even if it were possible, the noise would be large. Our studies have revealed that if a light-receiving element is provided outside the cylinder to avoid this, the image of the track will rotate on the light-receiving element, making it extremely difficult to obtain a tracking signal.

The above-mentioned rotating cylinder touches the recording carrier tape diagonally (helical scan) in almost the same way as the rotating cylinder used in a normal VTR, and inside is a part of the recording/playback head used in an optical disk recording/playback machine. is included. As the light separation means, a normal beam splitter or a flat glass plate made oblique to the optical path is used. The objective (focusing) used for the optical disk is used as the light focusing means.
A lens is used. As the light source means, a gas that generates laser light, a diode laser, or the like is used. A light sensing element such as a photodetector is used as the light receiving means. Generally, the information signal reproducing means uses the total amount of light that enters the light receiving means and performs logical operations and reproduces the output according to the recording/reproducing code format. The light source control means includes an actuator that mechanically controls the light source, a control circuit that electrically controls the amount of light, etc., and an actuator control circuit that controls the actuator.

Function: In the recording and reproducing system configured as described above, the rotating cylinder has a control signal detection light receiving element inside the cylinder, and is separated from the actuator that is controlled by the rotating cylinder, making it easy to track and eliminating the need for centrifugal force to act on the actuator. The power of the circuit inside the cylinder is small and it is easy to supply power. Also,
The record carrier tape is prevented from coming into direct contact with the cylinder rotating at high speed, achieving non-contact recording and reproduction, which is a characteristic of optical recording. Furthermore, high-density recording and reproducing is made possible by track position prediction control means that enables narrow track recording and reproducing.

The output signal of the light receiving means 6 enters the pre-processing means 11, which detects the error between the track position to be recorded and reproduced and the recording and reproduction position, and uses the output to predict the track to be recorded and reproduced in the non-track section. A signal is output to the light source control means 12. This can be accomplished by using a microprocessor. In focusing control, if the focusing distance between the last part of recording and playback and the first part of recording and playback is significantly different, calculate the difference between the focusing distance of the last part of recording and playback and the focusing distance of the next first part of recording and playback. The focusing distance is predictively controlled during non-track sections.

Effects of the Invention The recording/reproducing device configured as described above has a control signal detection light receiving element inside the rotating cylinder, and is separated from the actuator controlled by the light receiving element, so that tracking is easily achieved and centrifugal force is applied to the actuator. does not work, and the power of the circuit inside the cylinder is small, making it easy to supply power. Furthermore, the record carrier tape is prevented from coming into direct contact with the cylinder rotating at high speed, realizing non-contact recording and reproduction, which is a characteristic of optical recording. Furthermore, high-density recording and reproduction is made possible by track position prediction control means that enables narrow track recording and reproduction.
