The outline of the ion microanalyzer is shown in FIG. In the figure, primary ions 1 emitted from a primary ion source 8 are exposed to a lens 9,
10 irradiates the sample 3 on the sample holder 6 in a focused manner. The secondary ions 2 sputtered by the above irradiation pass through the extraction electrode 4, pass through the object point slit 11 of the mass spectrometer, and are separated according to the mass-to-charge ratio of the sputtered ions by the electric field 12 and magnetic field 13. and is focused on the collector slit 14. Here, if the strength of the magnetic field 13 is changed sequentially, ions will flow into the detector 15 one after another, and a spectrum can be recorded.

Then, the sample 3 is irradiated with the primary ions 1 and secondary ions are emitted. In order to ensure the uniformity of the electric field, the so-called secondary ion extracting section has a hemispherical mesh electrode that covers the surface of the sample holder 6 on which the sample 3 is placed, as shown in detail in FIG. 5 is proposed by the applicant. In addition, in FIG. 2, the mesh electrode 5 is fixed to the sample holder 6,
The extraction electrode 4 is provided by penetrating a part of the mesh electrode 5.

Therefore, as shown in FIG. 2, for example, when the sample holder 6 is tilted by θ, the amount of the sample holder 6 hitting the mesh light bulb 5 is
One possible method is to cut out the mesh electrode. However, in this case, when the sample holder 6 is used horizontally, the cut portion of the mesh electrode becomes open. Furthermore, even if the sample holder 6 is tilted, an opening is formed at the lower right portion in the figure. Therefore, the electric field in these apertures is disturbed, and the secondary ion extraction angle changes as the sample is slightly moved, resulting in unstable sensitivity and dispersion of the mass spectrometer, resulting in a decrease in measurement accuracy. .

First, in FIG. 3a, the mesh electrode 5 that covers the sample holder 6 has a hemispherical overall shape, and is composed of a first mesh electrode 5' and a second mesh electrode 7 which are separated. ing. The first mesh electrode 5' is fixed to the extraction electrode 4. If it is assumed that the sample holder 6 can rotate clockwise in the figure by a maximum angle θ, then the first mesh electrode 5' has a left end side that is θ in the figure.
It has a notched shape. That is, the left side of the periphery of the first mesh electrode 5', which is divided into two parts by the rotation axis of the sample holder 6, is notched at an angle of θ.

On the other hand, the second mesh electrode 7 is fixed to the sample holder. When the sample holder 6 is positioned horizontally, it is formed so as to cover the partially cut out opening of the first mesh electrode 5', and the sample holder 6 is also positioned at a θ angle. It is formed so as to cover the opening formed on the left side in the figure when it is rotated (see Fig. 3).

Note that the force for rotating the second mesh electrode 7 is exerted by the sample holder 6 in the clockwise direction, and is always exerted by a spring (not shown) in the counterclockwise direction. Further, when the sample holder 6 becomes horizontal, the stopper 18 hits the frame of the first mesh electrode 5' and rotation is stopped. Further, the opening formed in the second mesh electrode 7 for passing the extraction electrode 4 is formed by the above-mentioned rotation.
A margin is provided in the direction of rotation to prevent it from hitting the surface.

As is clear from the above description, according to the ion microanalyzer according to the present invention, the mesh electrode can always maintain a state covering the sample holder even when the sample holder is rotated arbitrarily. Therefore, secondary ions can be extracted stably.
