Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the enlargement of the outside dimension of a braun tube because of a welding fitting by butting the both ends of a metal stripe band and connecting its abutted part through a fitting lug. CONSTITUTION:The numeral 6 in the figure shows a pannel and a metal sprite band 7 is provided to lap the outer peripheral surface of the pannel 6 on a heat-proof tape 8 as a substrate previously provided under the heated condition. Under the abutted condition of both ends at a corner part 9 of the pannel 6, this abutted part is connected by welding through a fitting lug 10. Thereafter, the metal sprite band 7 is cooled to shrink so as to strongly fasten to reinforce the outer peripheral part of the pannel. Thereby, the welding fitting becomes unnecessary, and the probrem that the outside dimension of a braun tube is enlarged becaused of the welding fitting is eliminated.
