For example, not only in the hotels mentioned above, but also in homes, wasting energy by forgetting to turn off unnecessary lights is contrary to the viewpoint of energy conservation. In particular, hotel corridors are usually left on at all times due to the complexity of maintenance. However, the lights only need to be turned on when hotel guests use the corridor, resulting in a huge waste of energy.

In such a situation, a device that uses ultrasonic sensors to automatically turn lights on and off may be considered, but this device can detect not only the bodies passing through the hallway, but also the human bodies in the rooms on both sides of the hallway. This caused a malfunction in which the lights would turn on even when there were no hotel guests in the hallway. In order to eliminate such inconveniences, the present applicants proposed a method for automatically turning on and off lights using an infrared sensor that detects infrared rays emitted from the human body, and filed a patent application.
Although this prior application eliminates the disadvantages seen in the ultrasonic sensors mentioned above and responds appropriately to the target human body, the sensor structure responds to the thermal action of infrared rays. If the device had a heat source that emitted heat rays with a wavelength in the range, it would react to things other than the human body and malfunction.

In other words, by arranging the two infrared sensors in series along the direction of travel in a hallway, etc.
When a human body passes by, the detection signals from the two sensors are sequentially transmitted, so the controller sequentially receives signals of opposite phases and turns on the lighting fixture. In addition, in the case of an object (disturbance) that has a heat source similar to infrared rays other than the human body, since the object does not move, the sensor with the above-mentioned arrangement detects the object at the same time, and at the same time sends out the above-mentioned reverse phase signal. In order to transmit , both signals cancel each other out and no signal is transmitted to the controller,
Therefore, the lighting fixture does not light up.

In this way, by simply arranging sensors that focus on the movement of the human body and emit signals with opposite phases in series along the direction of movement, it is possible to avoid malfunctions of the infrared sensor due to disturbances, and moreover, A switching element and a controller made up of an electronic device that receives a signal from the sensor and operates the lighting device is integrated with the sensor, and is designed to be small and lightweight, so it is easy to handle. We have now been able to provide something that helps save energy.

Figure 1 shows a typical usage example of this device, in which lighting devices 1 are installed in parallel in the direction of travel in a hotel hallway, etc., and the lighting device A automatically turns on and off, respectively.
The two infrared sensors 2, 2 (see Fig. 2), which are used to detect a human body in the device A and emit signals of positive and negative phase, respectively, are turned on.
When turned OFF, the lighting device 1 is automatically turned on sequentially as the human body advances, and is automatically turned off with a suitable time lag.

As shown in the circuit diagrams of FIG. 3A and 3B, the automatic lighting device A is equipped with a filter 2a that allows only infrared rays to pass through, so that malfunctions caused by external disturbances (for example, natural light) are suppressed as much as possible, and the transmitted signal is It integrally incorporates two infrared sensors 2, 2 for detecting a human body with forward and reverse phases, and a switching element Tr 1 consisting of a transistor that operates on and off depending on whether or not a human body is detected by these sensors 2, 2. It is constructed by electrically connecting the output end of the controller 3 and the input end of the lighting fixture 1 equipped with a switching element Tr 2 consisting of two transistors. The circuit of the controller 3 is a non-inverting/inverting amplifier circuit B, which mainly consists of OP amplifiers 4, 5 which connect infrared sensors 2, 2 in series (or in parallel) and perform an amplifying action upon receiving the transmitted signals. The comparator circuit D outputs an output to the switching element Tr 1 which is composed of a C and an OP amplifier 6 and 7, and an LED 8 that operates in conjunction with the lighting of the lighting device 1.
