ている。 Hereinafter, the present invention will be explained in detail based on an embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. Reference numeral 4 has a center hole 5 having the same diameter as the outer circumference of the clad 2 of the optical fiber, and has a receptacle on the front end surface. The front half is provided with a female fitting part (groove) 6 that can be fitted with a male fitting part of another member such as a casing or an adapter, and 7 is a central hole with a diameter slightly smaller than the outer circumference of the coating layer 3 of the optical fiber. 5 and a pair of engaging holes 9, 9 in a direction parallel to the radial direction of the center hole 8. and a lower half 13 having a pair of engaging claws 12, 12 in a direction parallel to the radial direction of the center hole 8. These are integrally molded by injection molding of synthetic resin to constitute the entire plug.
The outer wall 6 of the female fitting portion 6 has four corners cut out to provide appropriate flexibility, and an engaging protrusion 6b is provided on the inner surface of the outer wall 6a.

At the same time, the portion of the coating layer 3 that is not to be removed is pushed into the center hole 8. Next, the upper half portion 11 is pushed down to cut the thin wall portion 10, and the engaging hole 9 is fitted into the engaging claw 11, so that the two are engaged (FIG. 2). Then,
Since the diameter of the center hole 8 is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the coating layer 3 of the optical fiber, the portion of the coating layer 3 that is not removed is sandwiched between the upper and lower halves 11 and 13.
Therefore, the end of the optical fiber can be reliably held in the present plug with only two operations of pushing in and pushing down, making it extremely easy to attach the end of the optical fiber. Moreover, in this case, since the engagement action between the engagement hole 9 and the engagement claw 12 is quite strong, the clamping force by the upper and lower halves 11 and 13 can be set strong, and as a result, the end of the optical fiber is forced backward. Even if a tensile force is applied, the end of the optical fiber does not easily come off from the plug of the present invention. In addition, the plug of the present invention has only one component and the entire plug can be integrally molded by injection molding, so the manufacturing cost is reduced.

5a engages with the protrusion 6b of the female fitting part 6 and cannot be removed. Therefore, the present plug is the receptacle 14.
The end face of the optical fiber end is placed coaxially close to the surface of the photoelectric element 16 such as a light receiving element mounted on the receptacle 14, and is optically connected.
