モータにより駆動回転される主軸と、前記モータ
のステータが取付けられ且つ前記ロータを挾んだ
前端側及び基端側がそれぞれ軸受を介して前記主
軸を回転自在に支持する工作機械の本体とを有す
る主軸支持構造において、前記前端側に位置する
軸受が取付けられる前記本体の軸受箱の内径を前
記ロータの外径より大きくしたことを特徴とする
