PRIOR TECHNOLOGY Conventionally, sockets with a so-called ZIF mechanism, which makes the insertion/extraction force substantially zero when connecting/separating connectors, have been developed, for example, in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 58
- There was something like the one disclosed in Publication No. 150281. An example of a conventional socket of this type is shown in partially cutaway view in FIG. 15 of the accompanying drawings. A conventional IC socket 20 shown in FIG. 15 connects an IC package 10 having a large number of connection pins 11. This IC socket 20 includes a socket main body plate 21 having a contact array hole 22 in which a large number of female contacts 23 that receive and make contact with each connecting pin 11 of the IC package 10 are arranged, and a cover plate 24 coupled to and slidable relative to the cover plate 24;
and a lever 26 provided in association with the socket body plate 21 and cover plate 24 for sliding the cover plate 24 relative to the socket body plate 21. The cover plate 24 is provided with ICs corresponding to each contact arrangement hole 22 of the socket body plate 21.
A large number of pin holes 25 are formed through which each connection pin 11 of the package 10 passes. Lever 2

Regarding the operational relationship between the lever 26, the socket body plate 21, and the cover plate 24,
Fig. 17 showing a partial longitudinal section of Fig. 15 and Fig. 1
This will be explained with reference to FIG. FIG. 17 shows an enlarged longitudinal section of the socket 20 in the vicinity of the action part of the lever 26 with the lever 26 in the closed state as shown in FIG. 15. FIG. 18 shows an enlarged longitudinal section of the vicinity of the action portion of the lever 26 of the socket 20 when the lever 26 is pulled upward from the state shown in FIG. 15 and operated to the vertical state. As best shown in FIGS. 15 and 17, when the lever 26 is in the closed position,
Central part 26C of the action part bent into a crank shape
rests on the upper surface of the stepped portion at the rear end of the socket body plate 21, and the side portion 26B fits into a recess 24A formed at the rear end of the cover plate 24. From this state, the operation part 26 of the lever 26
When the operating part is rotated to a vertical position by pulling up A, the central part 26C rotates on the upper surface of the stepped part at the rear end of the socket body plate 21,
Because of the crank-like bend, the side portion 26B is rotated counterclockwise about the center of rotation of the central portion 26C, so that the cover plate 24 is rotated in the direction indicated by arrow P1 in FIG. It will be slid against the main body plate 21. FIG. 18 shows this state.

Next, the operation of the lever 26 and the movement of the cover plate 24 against the socket body plate 21 are performed.
19 and 19 for the mutual relation between the female contact 23 disposed on the socket body plate 21 and the connecting pin 11 of the IC package 10 coupled to the socket 24. This will be explained with reference to FIG. Figure 19 shows
The 18th lever 26 is opened and operated to the vertical position.
As shown in the figure, slide the cover plate 24 to the socket 20 to the insertion/extraction position.
A partial cross-sectional view shows a state in which the connecting pin 11 of the IC package 10 is inserted. As clearly shown in FIG. 19, the female contact 23 disposed in the contact arrangement hole 22 of the socket body plate 21 has a pair of contact parts 23B and 23C, and the contact part on the left side in the figure The upper end of 23C is inserted into the working hole 25A formed near each pinhole 25 on the lower surface of the cover plate 24. 1st
In the insertion/extraction position shown in Figure 9, the cover plate 2
4 is slid relative to the socket body plate 21 in the direction shown in FIG. Therefore, the gap between the contact portion 23B and the contact portion 23C is made larger than the outer diameter of the connecting pin 11 to be received therein. For this reason, the IC is
Insert the connecting pin 11 of the package 10, or insert the connecting pin 1 of the IC package 10 from the socket 20.
1, the connecting pin 11 does not come into contact with the contact portions 23B and 23C, so this can be done with virtually no insertion/extraction force. When the lever 26 is operated from such an insertion/extraction position to the closed position shown in FIGS. 15 and 17, that is, the normal contact position, the action of the lever 26 as described above causes the position shown in FIG. , the cover plate 24 is slid relative to the socket body plate 21 as shown by arrow P2 . Therefore, the upper end of the contact portion 23C is released from the right inner wall of the working hole 25A,
The contact portion 23C can be elastically deflected toward the contact portion 23B, and the connecting pin 11 can be moved toward the contact portion 23B.
A reliable electrical contact can be made by sandwiching between the two. FIG. 20 shows this normal contact position.

Problems to be solved by the invention A socket with the conventional ZIF mechanism as described above can be changed between the insertion/extraction position and the normal contact position by operating a lever. The mating connecting pin can be inserted and removed with substantially zero insertion/extraction force, and moreover, it can make strong and reliable contact with the mating connecting pin in the normal contact position. However, such a conventional socket structure has the following problems. That is, in the insertion/extraction position shown in FIG. 19, the contact portion 23B and the contact portion 23C are wide open from each other, and the connecting pin 11 can be inserted into or extracted from there. In this case, the connection pin 11 does not rub against the contact portion 23B and the contact portion 23C, so-called wiping operation, and the second
Even when transitioning to the normal contact position as shown in Figure 0, the contact portion 23B and the contact portion 23C only operate to sandwich the connecting pin 11 from both sides, and the connecting pin 11 and each contact portion 23B and 2
There is no wiping action that causes friction with 3C. Therefore, when using such conventional sockets for a long period of time,
The contact surfaces of these contact portions 23B and 23C become dirty due to adhesion of dust, corrosion, etc., tending to cause problems such as poor contact, and there are concerns about contact reliability.

Means for Solving the Problems According to the present invention, in a socket having a ZIF mechanism that makes the insertion/extraction force of a mating male contact substantially zero, a female contact that receives a mating male contact and comes into contact with it is provided. An insulating housing provided, an insulating cover slidably coupled to the insulating housing, and a normal contact position of the insulating cover with respect to the insulating housing, and insertion and removal when inserting and removing the mating male contact. and lever means for sliding the insulating cover between the
It has a through hole that allows the male contact to pass through and make contact with the female contact, and the female contact faces each other to receive and make contact with the male contact. a pair of contact parts each having a contact surface extending along the sliding direction; and a wing-like part provided on each contact part and protruding in a direction perpendicular to the contact surface; teeth,
Furthermore, a protrusion is provided that engages with each of the wing-shaped parts in the insertion/extraction position to open each contact surface diagonally with respect to each other, and the protrusion of the insulating cover and the wing-shaped part of each of the contact parts are provided. The portion refers to the contact at a position where, when the insulating cover is in the normal contact position, the contact surfaces of the pair of contact portions extend parallel to each other along the sliding direction and are aligned with the through hole of the insulating cover. The distance between the surfaces is such that sufficient contact can be made with the mating male contact, but when the insulating cover is in the insertion/extraction position, the contact surfaces of the pair of contact portions are aligned in the sliding direction. and a spacing between the contact surfaces at a position that extends in a direction such that they open diagonally with respect to each other along the insulating cover and is aligned with the through hole of the insulating cover is aligned with the through hole of the insulating cover when in the normal contact position. In the insertion/extraction position, the mating male contact passes through the through hole of the insulating cover. The female contact can be inserted and removed between the considerably wide contact surfaces with zero insertion/extraction force, and the insulating cover can be moved to the normal position or to the insertion/extraction position using the lever means. When sliding, the mating male contact is slid together with the insulating cover, and wipes against the contact surface that is being returned to the parallel state or the contact surface that is being brought to the diagonally open state. I am made to do so.

100 LSI sockets assembled in this way
As shown in the perspective view in FIG. 1, the lever 130 can be placed in the normal contact position by fitting the engaging portion 132 between the lever locking protrusions 116 and 117. Figure 9 shows the lever 1 of the LSI socket 100 in such a normal contact position.
30 shows a cross section near the flat portion 134 of FIG.
From the normal contact position where the lever 130 is closed, remove the lever 130 from between the lever locking protrusions 116 and 117 and rotate it approximately 90 degrees to open the operating section 1.
By moving 31 to an almost vertical position,
Due to the shifting action of the flat portion 134 of the lever 130, the insulating cover 120 is slid with respect to the insulating housing 110 and moved to the insertion/extraction position. The 10th is in the insertion/extraction position like this
Flat part 13 of lever 130 of LSI socket 100
A cross section near No. 4 is shown. That is, according to such an operation of the lever 130, the flat part 134 rotates around the shaft part 133, thereby
As shown in FIG. 10, the R-shaped surface of the flat part 134 comes into contact with the long side walls of the respective receiving recesses 115 and 123 to push the insulating cover 120 and the insulating housing 110 apart, and the insulating cover is moved to the insertion/extraction position. 1

When the lever 130 is rotated 90 degrees from the normal contact position as described above and the insulating cover 120 is slid to the insertion/extraction position shown in FIG. 10, an enlarged partial plan view is shown in FIG. As the insulating cover 120 slides in the direction shown by arrow P3 , the wings 144 and 145 of the female contact portion 140 are coupled by the protrusions 125 and 126 of the insulating cover 120, and their camming action As a result, the contact surfaces of the contact portions 142 are diagonally opened relative to each other, and the through holes 121 of the insulating cover 120 are aligned in the open positions. In this insertion/extraction position, connecting pin 1 of the LSI package
1 through the through hole 121 of the insulating cover 120 and inserted between the open contact surfaces of the female contact 141, this can be done with zero insertion force. FIG. 13 shows the state in which this connecting pin 11 is inserted. From the state shown in Figure 13, lever 13
0 into the closed state as shown in FIG. The connecting pin 11 which is in contact with the insulating cover 120 will be slid against the contact surface which is being returned to the parallel state. FIG. 14 is a partially enlarged plan view showing the state where the wiping operation has been performed and the state has been moved to the final normal contact position. In FIG. 14, arrow P 4
indicates the sliding direction of the insulating cover 120 to the normal contact position. In the normal contact position shown in FIG. 14, the gap between the contact portions 142 of the female contact 140 is compressed to the original parallel position due to the spring property, and the female contact 140 comes into strong contact with the connecting pin 11. Connecting pin 11 of the LSI package combined in this way
The operation for removing the LSI from the LSI socket 100 is simply the reverse of the operation for inserting the LSI, so it will not be described in detail again.

In this way, in the LSI socket of this embodiment,
When the lever 130 is opened vertically and the insulating cover 120 is slid to the insertion/extraction position, the connecting pin 11, which is the mating male contact, is inserted into the female contact 140 through the through hole 121 of the insulating cover 120 with zero insertion/extraction force. The connecting pin 11 is inserted into the through hole 121 of the insulating cover 120 when the lever 130 is used to slide the insulating cover 120 to the normal position or to the insertion/extraction position. The contact of the female contact 140 is then guided and slid with its insulating cover 120 and wiped against the contact surface that is being returned to the parallel state or to the open state. Strong and reliable contact is made between the portions 142.

Effects of the invention Since the socket with the ZIF mechanism of the present invention has the above-mentioned configuration, the female contact completely opens during insertion/extraction, allowing the mating male contact to be inserted/extracted without any insertion/extraction force.
While maintaining the function of the ZIF mechanism, the mating male contact always rubs against the contact surface of the female contact when the insulating cover slides, so a so-called wiping effect is obtained. A good contact condition can always be maintained. Furthermore, the male contact begins to rub against the contact surface of the female contact when the contact surface is being returned to the parallel state from the diagonally open state, or when the contact surface is returning from the parallel state to the diagonally open state. Although the wiping effect can be obtained, since the contact surface is being weakened, the male contact is completely and tightly sandwiched between the contact surfaces and is rubbed and moved. Therefore, the friction force when moving the insulating cover and the male contact between the normal contact position and the insertion/extraction position is relatively small, and no large force is applied to the male contact or the lever means at that time. There is no way that these will be damaged by the action of

[Scope of claim for utility model registration] (1) The insertion/extraction force of the mating male contact is substantially zero.
A socket having a ZIF mechanism includes: an insulating housing having a female contact that receives and contacts a mating male contact; an insulating cover that is slidably coupled to the insulating housing; In contrast, the insulating cover is provided with a lever means for sliding the insulating cover between a normal contact position and an insertion/extraction position when the mating male contact is inserted/extracted; It has a through hole that allows the mating male contact to pass through and make contact with the female contact, and the female contact faces each other and receives the mating male contact between them and makes contact with it. a pair of contact parts each having a contact surface extending along the sliding direction; and a wing-shaped part provided on each of the contact parts and protruding in a direction perpendicular to the contact surface; The insulating cover is further provided with a protrusion that engages with each of the wing-like parts in the insertion/extraction position to open each contact surface diagonally with respect to each other, When the insulating cover is in the normal contact position, the contact surfaces of the pair of contact parts extend parallel to each other along the sliding direction, and the protrusion and the wing-shaped parts of each of the contact parts The distance between the contact surfaces at the position aligned with the through hole of the cover is such that sufficient contact with the mating male contact can be made, but when the insulating cover is in the insertion/extraction position, The contact surfaces of the pair of contact portions extend in a direction that opens diagonally with respect to each other along the sliding direction, and the distance between the contact surfaces at a position aligned with the through hole of the insulating cover is equal to the normal contact. The contact surfaces interact with each other to perform a camming action such that the distance between the contact surfaces is considerably wider than the distance between the contact surfaces at the position aligned with the through hole of the insulating cover when the contact surfaces are in the position, and the insertion/removal is performed. In the normal position, the mating male contact can be inserted and removed through the through hole of the insulating cover between the considerably wide contact surfaces of the female contact with zero insertion and removal force. ,
When the lever means is used to slide the insulating cover to the normal position or to the insertion/extraction position, the mating male contact is slid together with the insulating cover, and the insulating cover is returned to the parallel state. A socket characterized in that a contact surface or the contact surface that is being brought into the diagonally open state is wiped. (2) The protrusion is integrally provided on the back surface of the insulating cover.
The socket described in (1). (3) The mating male contact is a connecting pin of an IC package, and the through hole of the insulating cover and the female contact are provided in plural numbers corresponding to the connecting pins. Sockets described in scope (1) or (2). (4) The mating male contact is a connecting pin of an LSI package, and the through hole of the insulating cover and the female contact are provided in plural numbers corresponding to the connecting pins. Sockets described in scope (1) or (2).
