Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid detergent composition which is weakly acidic, highly viscous and stable, and therefore suited for use as a detergent for cleaning a bath tub or a toilet bowl by blending hydrogen peroxide, an anionic surfactant and an amphoteric surfactant, and adjusting the pH and viscosity of the blend each to a specific value. CONSTITUTION:0.5wt.% hydrogen peroxide; 0.01 to 10wt.% anionic surfactant which exhibits good stability in a (weakly) acidic region and consists preferably of a 10-18C linear and/or branched alkanesulfonate; 0.01 to 10wt.% amphoteric surfactant which consists preferably of a betaine-type amphoteric activator containing a 10-18C alkyl group or an aliphatic acid residue; optionally, a stabilizer for the hydrogen peroxide, a coloring agent, a perfume and a detergency improver; and water are blended in such a manner that the weight ratio of the anionic surfactant to the amphoteric surfactant will be 10-75/90-25 to thereby obtain a liquid detergent composition having a pH or 2 to 6 and a viscosity of not less than 10cp.
