[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] In such conventional throw-away chips, if the nose radius is made larger by polishing or the like, the position of the chip breaker becomes closer to the cutting edge, and when cutting is performed with the tip, chips are generated. There was a problem that the processing was not carried out properly.

FIG. 4 is a plan view of the cutting edge of a throw-away tip having a convex chip breaker with a small nose radius, and FIG. 5 is a plan view of the throw-away tip shown in FIG. 4 polished to a larger nose radius. As shown in the figure, when the nose radius R1 of the throw-away tip is small, the distance from the cutting edge 1 to the convex chip breaker 2 is a distance a, but when the throw-away tip is polished and the nose radius R2 is made larger, the convex chip breaker 2 extends from the cutting edge 3. 4, the distance b becomes short, and chip disposal becomes extremely poor, especially during light cutting. Even if the throw-away tip provided with the tip breaker was polished to have a larger nose radius, it was very difficult to obtain a tip suitable for cutting.

When using the throw-away tip 5 of this embodiment configured as described above as is, that is, with the nose radius of the cutting edge 6 being 0.4 mm, the step surface 7
Since the inclined surface 7a also functions as a chip breaker, good chip removal is achieved. On the other hand, when the cutting edge 6 is ground to a nose radius of 0.8 mm, the step surface 7 and the inclined surface 7a are polished.
Since the chips are completely removed, a new cutting edge 6a is formed as shown in FIGS. 2A and 2B, and the chip breaker 9 performs good chip removal during cutting.

When the throw-away tip 11 of the second embodiment configured as described above is used as it is, that is, with the nose radius of the cutting edge 12 being 0.4 mm, the stepped surface 13 and the inclined surface 13a serve as a chip breaker. This results in good chip removal. On the other hand, the nose radius R6 of the cutting edge 12 is 0.8 mm.
When used after polishing, the step surface 13 and the sloped surface 13a are completely removed by the polishing, and the step surface 14 and the slope surface 14a serve as a chip breaker, resulting in a good cut. Powder processing is performed. Furthermore, the nose radius R7 of the cutting edge 12 is

Incidentally, the convex chip breakers 9 and 16 may be convex chip breakers, and the position of the chip breakers is as follows.
The optimum dimensions can be selected based on the cutting edge position after polishing and the processing conditions. It goes without saying that the throwaway tip can be constructed by combining various nose radii. Furthermore, it is not limited to one cutting edge, but can be provided on all cutting edges of the throw-away tip, and the shape of the tip plate is not limited to a triangular shape, but may be square, diamond-shaped, or polygonal. The material of the chip is not limited to ceramic, but may also be cemented carbide or the like.
