Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an electric receptacle which has high contact pressure and whose inserting force is low by arranging a central part whose base part extends in the shaft direction and which is connected to the base part on the front end and the rear end and whose front end part inclines to the free end side of an elastic arm. CONSTITUTION: A fitting front end part 4 contains a base part 10, and has an integral side wall 12 rising from this base part 10. This side wall 12 is bent in the inverse (downward) direction after rising, and forms a curved surface part 14, and this curved surface part 14 forms an elastic arm part 16 proceeding to the base part 10, and the tip of this elastic arm part 16 is again bent upward, and forms an arc-shaped contact part 18. Then, when a tab type contact is inserted into a receptacle type contact 2, a central part 22 is made eccentric downward, and enables the tab type contact to contact with a contact surface 38. As a result, inserting force is reduced since it runs along the surfaces 38 and 40 forming an almost line contact surface. Therefore, a receptacle type contact whose inserting force is extremely low and contact pressure is high, can be obtained.

Reference is first made to FIG. 3, which shows a perspective view of a preferred embodiment of the receptacle-type contact of the present invention. The electrical receptacle or receptacle type contact 2 has a mating front end 4, a crimp portion 6 and a strain relief portion 8. The mating front end 4 includes a base 10 and has an integral sidewall 2 rising from the base 10. After this side wall 12 stands up, it is turned upside down (downward).
The curved surface portion 14 is formed by being bent in the direction shown in FIG. This curved surface part 1
4 forms an elastic arm portion 16 facing the base 10, and the tip of this elastic arm portion 16 is bent upward again to form an arcuate contact portion 18.

Next, a description will be given with reference to FIG. The receptacle type contact 2 is formed by stamping a metal plate as shown in FIG. 7, and includes a central portion 22 having an upwardly inclined portion 24, a substantially flat portion 26, and a downwardly inclined portion 2B. As best shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the flat base 10 further includes a contact arm 2 extending upwardly toward the central axis of the contact.
Contains 0. The free end is bent downward to form a rounded portion 23 as shown in cross section in FIG. A recess 34 is formed in the contact arm 20 on the central axis of the bending line between the arm 20 and the free end. This places the protrusion inner surface 38 on the inner surface of the fold line of the contact arm. Similarly, the recess 36 is on the central axis of the tangent to the curved portion 28, locating the protruding surface 40 downwardly (as best shown in FIG. 5). Note that the flat portion 26 of the central portion 22 is slightly higher in the vertical direction in FIG. 4 than the upper contact surface, the protruding surface 38. I want to be

As a result of the above-described design, the receptacle-type contacts of the present invention have low insertion force, high contact pressure, excellent wipe action, and an excellent introduction surface to prevent collisions during insertion. This introduction will be explained with reference to FIG. In the figure, the upwardly inclined portion 24 is indicated by a broken line. Note that the resilient arm portion 16 extends almost to the front of the terminal. That is, it extends very close to the position where the slope of the inclined portion 24 starts. This allows for a large insertion area or target X (

From FIGS. 1, 2, and 7, the shear end surface 32 begins at a root 42 axially rearward of the base 10 or the forward end of the resilient arm 16. The shear edge 32 is also sheared at an acute angle relative to the axial centerline, with the slope of this angle extending from the front of the terminal toward the rear toward the centerline or central portion 22.

Since these shear edges 32 have the angles described above,
To prevent a tab type contact from colliding with a receptacle type contact when inserted. The reason for this is, as best shown in FIG. , so it does not collide with the shear edge 32.

Referring to FIGS. 2 and 5, the length of the central portion 22 is sufficiently longer than the arm 16.20, so that the central portion 22 is flexible and the contact arm 16.20 is relatively tonal. Although the low insertion force receptacle type contact of the present invention has been described above with reference to one preferred embodiment, the present invention should not be limited to this embodiment only, and various modifications and changes can be made without departing from the gist thereof. Since the receptacle type contact of the present invention is essentially a line contact, the insertion force is extremely low (and the contact pressure is high. Therefore, the insertion operation with the tab type contact is extremely easy, and reliable electrical contact can be achieved. Furthermore, since a sufficient wiping action can be obtained when both contacts are inserted, the contact resistance is small, and collisions during insertion can be effectively avoided, making it effective for relatively large current capacity contacts that are inserted and removed frequently. .
