However, according to these methods, in the case of (1), the operation of the device stops every time a passbook 11 or the like is left behind, and an attendant is required to operate the device each time, which impairs the smoothness of automated operation. In the case of (a) of (2), if you forget to process the bankbook 11 etc. that has already been imported, the media storage unit 16 will overflow and future imports will be delayed. In the case of (2) (b), even a small amount may be detected by the transmission sensor 19 due to a bulge in the bankbook 11, etc., which increases the frequency of operation stoppage of the device and makes the reset operation troublesome. There is a drawback.

(e) Structure of the Invention The present invention includes a counting/storage circuit that counts and stores the number of media stored in a media storage unit by type, and a comparison circuit that detects when the number of stored media has reached a predetermined amount. In addition, the counting/memory circuit includes a means for resetting when no medium is present in the medium accommodating section and canceling the reset when a medium is present, and counting the number of media accommodated in the medium accommodating section. Based on the output of the stored counting/memory circuit, the comparator circuit detects that the media has reached a predetermined amount, and when the accommodated media is removed from the media storage section, the counting/memory circuit starts counting/storing.
This is a medium amount detection method characterized by having a configuration for resetting a storage circuit. By doing so, the purpose can be achieved.

(f) Embodiment of the Invention An embodiment of the invention will be described below with reference to the block diagram of FIG. In Figure 4, 22,2
3 is a multiplication circuit which receives a signal indicating that a predetermined type of medium, either the bankbook 11 or the ticket 11', is taken in, multiplies the signal by the thickness constant of the medium each time, and sends the signal to the counting storage circuit 25 via the OR circuit 24. It is something. Reference numeral 25 denotes a counting/storage circuit which is set with the first medium, has the function of adding up and storing the capacity of the medium, and outputting the total amount each time, and is reset without a medium. 26 is a comparison circuit, and counting/memory circuit 2
It has a function of comparing the signal inputted from 5 with a predetermined limit accommodation constant and issuing an alarm signal if the limit exceeds this.

With such a structure and function, passbook 1
1 or 11' is sent to the multiplication circuit 22 or 23, the thickness constant of the medium is sent to the counting/storage circuit 25 via the OR circuit 24, and the medium is accommodated. The amount is memorized,
The total amount is sequentially added and sent to the comparator circuit 26 each time, and when the sent signal exceeds the limit capacity constant, an alarm signal is output and an indicator lamp and a buzzer (not shown) are activated. Therefore, if you take out all the passbook 11 and ticket 11' from the medium storage section 16,
The memory of the counting/memory circuit 25 is cleared. In this way, there is no need to stop the device and perform a reset operation, and the device can continue to operate.

The difference between Fig. 5 and Fig. 4 is that instead of subcounting and storing the thickness according to the number of times of taking in each medium type, a number corresponding to the type of taking medium is counted and stored, and the output is An alarm is generated when the limit constant is exceeded. That is,
In FIG. 5, 27 and 28 are counting/memory circuits which receive a signal indicating that a predetermined type of medium, either the passbook 11 or the ticket 11', is taken in, and are set at the first signal to count the number of times the medium has been accommodated. It has a function of adding and storing each value and outputting the total number each time, and can be reset without a medium. Numerals 29 and 30 are multiplication circuits which, when inputted with the number of times of take-in for each type of medium, are multiplied by a medium thickness constant and sent to the addition storage circuit 31.

With such a structure and function, passbook 1
1 or 11' is sent to the counting/memory circuit 27 or 28, each time the signal is added to the multiplication circuit 29 or 30, which calculates the number of media. The product is multiplied by a thickness constant and sent to the data addition/storage circuit 30, which is added to the previously captured data of other media and outputted to the comparison circuit 2.
6, when the limit capacity constant is exceeded, an alarm signal is output and an indicator lamp and buzzer (not shown) are activated.
