Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of discharge due to static electricity and to improve reliability and stability of printing of a printer by a conduction means to induce static electricity with which a ribbon is charged to a printer body of an earth potential. CONSTITUTION:A printing head 5 is in a state to be electrically continued to a printer body 10, and the potential of the printing head 5 produces the same earth potential as that of the printer body 10. Static electricity with which a ribbon 7 is charged is induced to the printer body 10 through a tension spring 9, a coil spring 1, a push piece 2, a leaf spring 4, and the printing head 5 for removal. Further, static electricity with which a ribbon cassette is charged is induced to the printer body 10 through the ribbon 7 brought into pressure contact with a casing 8 of the ribbon cassette, the tension spring 9, the coil spring 1, the push piece 2, the leaf spring 4, and the printing head 5 for removal. Thereby, the ribbon 7 and the casing 8 of the ribbon cassette are prevented from being charged with static electricity, and discharge due to static electricity is prevented from occurring to the pin part of the printing head 5 brought into contact with the ribbon 7.

When the above-mentioned conventional ribbon cassette is used in a low humidity condition, the ribbon and ribbon cassette are charged with static electricity due to the 7:I friction between the gate and the ribbon, and the static electricity charged to a high voltage is discharged at the bottle portion of the print head. Therefore, there is a drawback that the electric circuit is adversely affected, and in the worst case, the printed data may be distorted or the printing may stop.

In the figure, a long ribbon 7 is stored in housing #8 of a ribbon cassette attached to the ribbon base 3.
It has a structure in which the ribbon 7 is fed out and the print head 5 transfers ink from the ribbon 7 onto a recording medium to perform printing. Further, 6 is a cover for closing the casing 8 of the ribbon cassette. This structure is the same as before.

The present invention guides the static electricity charged on the ribbon 7 toward the printer main body, and helps prevent discharge of static electricity at the print head. That is, the print head 5 is connected to the printer main body 1.
0, and the potential of the print head 5 is the same as the printer main body 10, which is the ground potential. Therefore, a part of the bottom of the ribbon cassette casing 8 has an opening facing the outside. A bushing piece 2 made of a conductive plastic material is slidably provided inside the M tubular part 8a, and the bushing piece 2 is urged downward by a metal coil spring 1. The metal plate spring 4 is crimped onto the ribbon base 3 by the piece 2. The leaf spring 4 comes into elastic contact with the print head 4 while being pressed and held by the bushing piece 2.
