The conventional device is based on Hayama's ``Fundamentals of Wear Phenomena of Metals and Alloys.''
As described in Marukubi (1982), the main type of wear testing machine is a rotary motion abrasion tester. Although there are some reciprocating test machines, this book points out that the speed of reciprocating motion using a crank mechanism is not constant, and that many of them are at low speeds.

The above literature further states that wear behavior is determined under various friction conditions,
That is, it has been pointed out that it changes depending on many factors such as friction speed, friction load, mutual size and shape of the test pieces, presence or absence of a lubricant or other third substance, atmosphere, temperature, and humidity. Therefore, it is desirable to conduct wear tests under conditions as close as possible to the conditions in which the equipment and structures are actually used.

Piezo elements have the property of expanding slightly when a voltage is applied to them, and one product that takes advantage of this property is the piezo-type piezoelectric actuator. Therefore, the actuator deforms depending on the magnitude of the applied voltage, and can be used as a drive source for repeatedly sliding over a small sliding distance, for example, by applying a sinusoidal voltage. Furthermore, by adjusting the amplitude and frequency of the voltage waveform, it is possible to control the amplitude and frequency of the repetitive sliding, respectively.

The rotation speed of the step motor can be controlled by a step signal. For example, by providing the motor with a cam mechanism and transmitting rotational force to the drive shaft, the step motor can be used as a drive source for repeatedly generating pressing force. Further, by adjusting the size of the cam and the time interval of the step signal, it is possible to control the amplitude and frequency of the repetitive pressing force, respectively.

Various vibration patterns can be considered as vibrations that cause wear. In other words, it is known that the relationship between repeated sliding due to vibration and repeated pressing force varies from completely random to regular, and wear is strongly dependent on the relationship between the two. Therefore, the wear tester must be able to control the relationship between the two. For this purpose, it is necessary to detect repetitive waveforms of sliding and pressing force. The waveform of repeated sliding can be detected by providing a displacement meter, for example. Further, the waveform of the repeated pressing force can be detected by, for example, providing a load cell. The detected waveform is AD converted, inputted into a computer, etc., the two waveforms are compared and calculated, and the relationship between the two can be measured.

Computer control is performed so that the repetitive waveform and period of sliding and pressing force programmed in advance into the computer are equal to the waveform and period detected above. As described above, it becomes possible to repeatedly control the relationship of the pressing force by repeatedly sliding with various vibration patterns. Note that random control is also possible by programming random waveforms into a computer.

The piezo type piezoelectric actuator provided in the present invention is
It is strong against compressive loads, but weak against tensile loads, and is known to break under small tensile loads. Therefore, when driving the actuator, it is necessary to always apply a compressive load to the actuator. Compressive load can be generated by providing a leaf spring or the like.

On the other hand, when conducting tests in high-pressure water, it is necessary to provide a drive source outside the pressure vessel, and in this case, the differential pressure inside and outside the pressure vessel acts on the drive shaft. At this time, an excessive compressive load acts on the actuator, which is the driving source, and it is necessary to provide a pressure balance device to remove this load. By appropriately setting the diameter of the piston of the pressure balance device,
It becomes possible to slightly upset the pressure balance, that is, to generate a force that pushes the drive shaft from the pressure vessel side, and to apply a compressive load to the drive shaft and the piezoelectric actuator that is the drive source. According to this method, the above-mentioned leaf spring becomes unnecessary, and the number of components can be reduced.

The mating member 3 is installed while being pressed against the test specimen 2 by a fixing jig 8 via a spring 7 or the like. The expansion of the piezoelectric actuator 5 is proportional to the voltage of the power supply. Therefore, for example, if a sinusoidal AC power source is used, the piezoelectric actuator 5
The test material 2 repeatedly expands and contracts in a sine wave pattern, thus making it possible to repeatedly slide the test material 2 against the mating material 3. Moreover, the amplitude and frequency of repeated sliding can be controlled by the voltage amplitude and frequency of the AC power source.

It is connected to the heavenly name 13 via the connecting jig 4B, the connecting jig 12A, etc. At this time, if the mating material 3 is pushed against the test material 2 from one direction, the test material 2 may be bent. In order to prevent this, it is necessary to provide a plurality of mating materials 3, adjust the pressing force of each of them, and balance the forces against the test material 2. In this embodiment, two mating materials 3 are placed facing each other, and the same pressing force is generated on both materials to prevent the test material 2 from being bent. That is, the two connecting jigs 12A and 12B are connected to the heavenly head 13 by pin support. Furthermore, a cam mechanism 14 is attached to one of the connecting jigs 12A.
A drive source such as a motor having a drive source and a reaction spring 15 are respectively provided on the other connecting jig 12B. When one connecting rod 12A is pushed down by the cam mechanism 14, the other connecting rod 12B is pushed down via the head 13, and the reaction spring 15 is compressed. Although the cam mechanism 14 itself does not have the function of pushing up the connecting rod 12-l, the connecting rod work 2 can be pushed up by pushing back the connecting jig 12B with the compressed reaction spring 15. Furthermore, by installing the load direction conversion jigs 11 connected to the two mating materials 3 in opposite directions, it becomes possible to press the test material 2 from both directions. A load cell 16 is provided on the connection jig 12A to detect the pressing force, and a displacement detector 17 is provided on the length adjustment jig 10A to detect the movement of the test material 2. The load cell] 6 is also attached to the connecting jig 4B.

Lead to computer. The computer is programmed in advance to synchronize the two or to create a half-cycle shift as shown in the figure, so that the detected waveform is equal to the programming waveform.
The step motor 14 or piezo actuator 5 is controlled through DA conversion. According to the above, it becomes possible to control the relationship between repeated sliding and repeated pressing force associated with various vibration patterns. Note that random control is also possible by programming random waveforms into a computer.
