The desired display is obtained by bombarding the phosphor layer with thermionic electrons emitted from the filament.
As shown in Fig. 1, a lead terminal 1 is pulled out from the long side of the box-shaped fluorescent display tube, and a short lead terminal 2
The lead terminals are also pulled out from the long sides of the box-shaped fluorescent display tube, but the lead terminals are not pulled out from the short sides of the box-shaped fluorescent display tube. Moreover, as shown in FIGS. 2a and 2b, the height of the spacer member made of glass or the like is uniform on both the long and short sides. but,
Since there is an opening 11 for embedding the exhaust pipe 3,
When the spacer is heated and melted, twisting occurs, often resulting in a step at the opening of the spacer.
Using a spacer with a step in such an opening, the third
As shown in the figure, when sealing layers 9a, 9b, and 9c of frit glass are applied to the hermetically sealed portion and pressed from above and below to form an airtight container, lead terminals are formed as shown in Figure 4. Since the correcting force is lost due to the thickness of the container, complete sealing cannot be achieved and a sealing hole 10 is formed, resulting in a disadvantage that an airtight container cannot be obtained.
本考案の目的は上記欠点を改善した新規な箱形
蛍光表示管を提供することにある。 An object of the present invention is to provide a new box-shaped fluorescent display tube that overcomes the above-mentioned drawbacks.

蛍光表示管を得るものである。 That is, the gist of the present invention is characterized by using a spacer in which a convex portion is locally provided near the opening on the short side of the spacer facing the insulating substrate. Therefore, even if there is a step at the opening of the spacer,
Due to the convex part provided on the spacer, the level difference is corrected by the height of the convex part by pressing the upper and lower plates during the sealing process, creating a completely airtight container and obtaining a highly reliable box-shaped fluorescent display tube. It is something.

とは云う迄もない。 The following will explain based on examples. Figure 5a,
FIG. 5b shows a spacer glass in which a convex portion 12 having a thickness equal to or less than the thickness of the lead terminal 1 is provided on the short side facing the substrate 6 near the opening 11 in which the exhaust pipe is embedded in the spacer facing the insulating substrate. Using this spacer, assemble the insulating substrate, lead terminals, face glass, and other parts, heat and melt the frit glass sealing layers 9a, 9b, and 9c of the hermetically sealed portion to seal them.
Even if the opening 11 of the spacer has a step in the airtight container, that is, the box-shaped fluorescent display tube shown in FIG. is prevented. In particular, if the height of the convex part is made equivalent to the thickness of the lead terminal, regardless of whether the step at the opening is large or small, the pressure between the upper and lower plates will correct the step and create the state shown in Figure 6, making it a reliable vacuum container. A box-shaped fluorescent display tube with high performance can be obtained. Although FIGS. 5 and 7 show the shape of the convex portion provided on the spacer, it goes without saying that the shape is not limited to this and any shape can be selected.
