Since the rubber material on the surface of the roller 106 is in direct contact with the glass surface of the fully contact image sensor 104, frictional resistance is large and the load on the drive motor becomes large.
In some cases, synchronization may occur, so to prevent this, the surface of the CS roller 106 is provided with minute irregularities to prevent the surface of the CS roller 106 from touching the glass of the fully contact image sensor 104. This reduces the load on the drive motor.
